The Voice USA Season 26 champion Sofronio Vasquez shared an exciting career opportunity and provided an update on his personal life during the media conference of his contract signing under ABS-CBN’s talent arm, Star Magic.

Sofronio revealed that he received an offer to join the UK production of the hit musical Miss Saigon.

“I am so excited to share this to everyone na I am offered sa Miss Saigon sa UK but I have to figure it out kasi mukhang masikip na talaga iyong dates,” Sofronio revealed.

The announcement came after Sofronio shared his desire to do musical play after bringing pride to the country as an international singing competition champion.

“Isa sa mga nagbukas na pangarap sa akin is to be in a musical kasi maganda rin siya,” he expressed.

Sofronio said that he was offered the role of Thuy but is still checking his schedule to see if he can accept the opportunity.

“I  am offered a role. I think it’s an Asian, Vietnamese na role. I think it’s Thuy. May nagcacast sa akin. Nagbigay na sila ng dates. Technically, parang kakanta na lang ako doon. Sana magawan ng paraan,” he added.

“If ever naman kung hindi, I am just blessed na kumbaga may chance pala and I will not close doors sa musical play.”

To prepare for the possibility, he sought advice from fellow Filipino artist Mark Bautista, who has experience in international musical theater.

“First time ko siya ishare sa lahat. It’s really true and I am super blessed kaso lang with the line of shows that I have, it’s going to be hectic talaga,” Sofronio explained.

“I’ve already asked one artist an nakapagtry doon, Mr. Mark Bautista, kung paano doon,” he continued.

Two months since he won the The Voice USA title, Sofronio has been busy with both local and international engagements. He has been preparing for shows and upcoming projects especially that he officially signed under Star Magic.

“Sobrang dami na nangyari sa buhay ko. The fact that I won The Voice, nakauwi ako sa Pilipinas the first time I got recognized. I went to Malacanang, nakapagperform ako sa ASAP stage na sobrang dati na pinapangarap ko lang, I went back to Showtime and had a production and now I officially signed sa Star Magic,” Sofronio expressed.

“I want to put the idea na talagang magthrive pa rin ako kung ano iyong pwedeng i-achieve (ko pa),” he added. “I am just overwhelmed at patuloy pa rin ako magoverhwelm sa pagmamahal at suporta.”

When asked about his romantic life, Sofronio kept things vague but expressed his happiness.

“Kung yung love life na paguusapan, sobrang blessed na ako kasi I am just happy now,” he said.

He acknowledged that people would continue to speculate regardless of what he says, making him share just a brief update from his personal life.

“Whether sabihin ko sa inyo kung may jowa ako, hindi kayo maniniwala, sabihin kong wala akong jowa, hindi kayo maniniwala ao I just want to say na I am happy right now,” he said.

He added, “Kung sino man nagpapasaya sa akin, I am just happy.”

Recently, rumors surfaced linking Sofronio to his Filipino handler, Gio Santos, as netizens noticed they were often seen together. However, Gio denied the speculation.

“Handler ako ni Sofronio. Hindi kami mag-jowa,” he stressed.
