In December 2023, Netflix renewed the teen drama for Season 2. In May 2025, it picked the series up for Season 3, as well.

Based on the WattPad novel of the same name, My Life With the Walter Boys is described as “a heartwarming coming of age story that follows 15-year-old Manhattanite Jackie Howard (Rodriguez) after losing her family in a tragic accident,” according to the official logline. “Jackie leaves behind her privileged and proper life in New York and moves to rural Colorado to be with her guardian – her mother’s best friend, Katherine (Suits’ Sarah Rafferty), who is raising 10 kids with her husband, George (Marc Blucas).” Jackie develops feelings for two of the Walter brothers: reliable Alex (Gentry) and troubled Cole (LaLonde).

In Season 2, per the official synopsis: “After leaving Silver Falls following Alex’s love confession and her kiss with Cole, Jackie Howard spent the summer in New York City. When Katherine convinces her to return to Colorado, Jackie is determined to make amends with Alex and set boundaries with Cole while finding her place within the Walter family. But fitting back in isn’t that easy. Alex — who changed a lot over the summer — isn’t too thrilled about Jackie’s attempts to reconnect, as he’s focused on training for a risky rodeo event (and enjoying all of the new attention he’s getting). Meanwhile, Cole takes on a new role at school, but when that doesn’t quite fill the void left by not playing football, his old ways creep back in and cause drama. As Jackie gains acceptance in Silver Falls while trying to hold onto her Howard identity, she’s forced to make a choice that could destroy everything she’s worked to rebuild.”

The new season’s cast will feature several additions: Natalie Sharp (The Flash) will play B. Hartford, a champion rodeo rider who catches the eye of one of the Walter boys; Carson MacCormac (Locke & Key) will play Zach, a commanding and a bit dangerous senior who attempts to get to know Nathan; Janet Kidder (Star Trek: Discovery) will play Joanne Wagner, Grace’s mom; Riele Downs (Bel-Air) will play Maria, a flirty girl in Alex’s Driver’s Ed class; and Jake Manley (The Order) will play Wylder Holt, a competitive force in bronc riding who crosses paths with Alex.
