Eleanor Matsuura Trades Zombies for Romance! The Walking Dead Actress Joins Australian Drama

Matsuura is well known for her roles in The Walking Dead, The Greater Good, Utopia, and I Used to be Famous.

Actress Eleanor Matsuura recently attended the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. Her recent series, The Day of the Jackal, was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, and her fellow castmate Eddie Redmayne was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series. Matsuura has now been cast in a new role for an Australian series, Love Divided By Eleven.

The six-part series hails from VicScreen, Stan, and Screen Australia and was created by the award-winning duo of Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope. According to Stan, the story is an unfiltered exploration of the loss of the love of your life.

Matsuura has been cast with Brooke Satchwell, known for the Stan original series Black Snow, Ryan Johnson (Doctor Doctor), Ben Lawson (Firefly Lane), Annie Maynard (Upper Middle Bogan), Daniel Henshall (Stan Original Film A Sunburnt Christmas), Kerry Armstrong (Stan Original Film Nugget is Dead: A Christmas Story), Megan Smart (Black Snow) and Khisraw Jones-Shukoor (The Newsreader). Satchwell portrays Lillian, a woman who experiences the loss of her fiancé and copes with the loss by finding the recipients of his organs.

Love Divided by Eleven will release exclusively on Stan in 2025.

Matsuura is well known for her portrayal of Yumiko on AMC’s The Walking Dead, but more recently, she starred in The Day of the Jackal. The series airs on Sky Atlantic and Now in the UK and Peacock in the US. Based on Fredrick Forsyth’s novel and the 1973 same-titled film. Matsuura

The story tells of a ruthless British assassin known as the Jackal, portrayed by Eddie Redmayne, and the agent, Biianca Pullman (Lashana Lynch), intent on capturing him. Additional cast for the series includes Úrsula Corberó, Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Jonjo O’Neill, and Sule Rimi. Matsuura portrays Zina Jansone, a liaison between the Jackal and Timothy Winthrop, her employer.

The Day of the Jackal has received positive reviews from critics, and fans hope to hear news of a second season soon.
