This Sullivan’s Crossing Plot Hole Needs to Be Addressed in Season 4—And It’s Causing a Fan Uproar!

Sullivan’s Crossing sometimes allows itself to be loose on the details when it comes to their main characters, but one plot hole in particular needs to be addressed next season. Throughout Sullivan’s Crossing season 3, there were a lot of details from previous seasons that wound up scrapped to make room for new plot. While some made sense, others didn’t.

Throughout the run of Sullivan’s Crossing, viewers watched as Harry “Sully” Sullivan (Scott Patterson) reconnected with his daughter Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan) at his family business. Sullivan’s Crossing, the place, has been said to have been in Sully’s family for generations. Now, with Maggie back in Timberlake and happily dating California “Cal” Jones (Chad Michael Murray), their family drama’s been set aside.

While Sully and Maggie never truly resolved a lot of their issues on screen, they’ve had moments that brought them together throughout the show’s run. What hasn’t been addressed as heavily, unfortunately, are the issues surrounding Sullivan’s Crossing throughout the first seasons of the series. Financial issues were plaguing the campsite, but it appears they’ve taken a back seat to Maggie’s issues.

Sully’s Financial Troubles At The Crossing Were Vaguely Addressed In Season 2

The Season Culminated In Timberlake Saving Sully

Cast of Sullivan's Crossing

Although Sully has always been shown to be someone who gives more than he receivesSullivan’s Crossing season 2 addressed the long-standing financial issues that have been baked into the show since the beginning. Sully’s finances, which were shown to be in dire straits as early as the first season, were a major piece of season 2’s puzzle in the end.

While Sully spent part of the season struggling with his memory due to alcohol-induced vitamin deficiency, once he was able to treat his condition, it became clear that the Crossing was in jeopardy. Sully had forgotten about his mortgage payments, which caused the Crossing to be put up for auction. Timberlake rallied to save the land, but once they did, there wasn’t much of an update.

Sullivan’s Crossing Season 3 Offered A Minimal Update On The Financial Side

Very Little Information Was Given About How The Crossing Remained Open

Once the Crossing was saved by the people of Timberlake coming together and donating the money for the auction, it seemed there would be more of a resolution to the other financial issues Sully’s held throughout the series. Instead, Sullivan’s Crossing season 3 barely touched on the way things shifted after the auction, refocusing the plot on Maggie and Cal.

While there were still many questions to be answered surrounding how the Crossing was running and how Sully was getting by, the series decided to offer very few moments to resolve its issues. Though there was a resolution regarding Glenn, who found himself ill and in need of Maggie’s help, Sully’s primary financial issues were never entirely resolved in a satisfactory way.

Sullivan’s Crossing Season 4 Can Resolve The Confusing Plot Hole

Sully’s Financial Habits Haven’t Changed, So An Update Is Needed

Although it’s clear that Glenn’s offer to Sully to help run the conservation area where he was constructing luxury condos is meant to help Sully financially, the way Sullivan’s Crossing has glossed over the major debt Sully was in is strange. Though the town’s contributions may have helped, Sully’s lifestyle hasn’t changed throughout the course of the series, including his spending habits.

Sully, shown to be a simple man who doesn’t need much, consistently goes out of his way to help others when he doesn’t have the means to. Sullivan’s Crossing has made it clear that Sully’s life hasn’t changed much. If Sully’s habits haven’t changed, his finances likely haven’t, either. Sullivan’s Crossing needs to address the plot hole next season to keep moving forward.
