The 11-year-old made a “very sweet” gesture, Kimmel told fellow late night host Stephen Colbert.
Late night hosts Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel were guests on each other’s shows on Tuesday, where they each recounted how they got the news of being taken off the air.
Colbert got the news over the summer that his show had been canceled and would end in May 2026, while Kimmel was taken off the air last month in what would turn out to be a temporary suspension.
But he didn’t know that at the time.
“I thought that’s it. It’s over. It is over,” he told Colbert. “I’m never coming back on the air. That’s really what I thought.”
He broke the news to his staff, and was followed by paparazzi and even helicopters on his way home.
“We get to the house and we’re shaking, you know,” he told Colbert. “I got two kids, and our daughter, who’s 11 years old, says, ‘I can sell my Labubus.’ It was actually very sweet.”
“That’s lovely,” Colbert said.
“Our son just got naked and started running around the house,” Kimmel added.
“Also lovely,” Colbert said.
