First Look Spider-Man Inspired Supe Set to Debut in The Boys Season 4, Episode 6

The Boys season 4's The Seven photoshoot featuring The Deep, Black Noir, and A-Train

The Boys teases the introduction of a new character, Webweaver, who is a parody of Spider-Man. Most of the series’ supes are already parodies of DC or Marvel superheroes, such as Homelander being a parody of Superman, Soldier Boy being a parody of Captain America, and Maeve being a parody of Wonder Woman. In the case of Webweaver, Billy Butcher and Grace Mallory took him down before the comics began, leading to the creation of the Boys in the source material.

On X/Twitter, Discussing Film has shared a first-look image at Webweaver released during the V52 Expo, a fictional convention hosted by Vought in episode 5 of the series. Webweaver will debut in episode 6. Check out the image below:

Webweaver is said to be returning from “his rehab stint at the Global Wellness Center in Malibu.” According to Vought CEO Ashley Barrett, in The Boys season 3 episode 5, Maeve was said to be in rehab at the same place when she was actually being held prisoner in Vought Tower after working with the Boys to try and take down Homelander.

What Role Will Webweaver Play In The Boys Season 4?

Webweaver Was Referenced Earlier In The Season

Even though episode 6 will be Webweaver’s first appearance in The Boys, he was already mentioned earlier in episode 4. Butcher spent $50,000 on a heroin enema that he gave to Webweaver in exchange for incriminating information about one of the Seven’s newest members, Firecracker. It appears that Webweaver genuinely has a drug addiction that got him sent to Vought’s Global Wellness Center in Malibu, unlike Maeve’s case, where the location was used as a cover story for her imprisonment.

Webweaver’s public return may connect to Sister Sage and Homelander’s full plan. It may relate to the web-slinging supe’s powers or his drug addiction, and how he can be manipulated in their plan to further divide the masses and ultimately give more powers to supes. In addition to being manipulated, Webweaver’s connection with Butcher may put him at risk, with Homelander and Firecracker not reacting well if they learn that he was willing to turn on a fellow supe.

They shouldn’t underestimate Webweaver, though, as he had the means to quickly provide Butcher with damaging information about Firecracker that wasn’t publicly known, and that the Boys weren’t able to discover without his help. Just because he’s resourceful doesn’t mean he’ll be heroic, as most of the supes still working for Vought are problematic and dangerous individuals. Unlike Spider-Man, The Boys‘ Webwaver is unlikely to be using his great power with great responsibility.
