Even Prince Harry Is Getting Hit By Some Midlife Malaise

According to royal expert Tom Quinn, Prince Harry is missing his life in England and “bored” with things in America.

Prince Harry Is Bored and Misses England

With just a few weeks until his 40th birthday, it appears that Prince Harry is getting a major dose of the feels. According to royal expert Tom Quinn, the Duke of Sussex may be in the throes of a midlife crisis. The author of Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle told The Mirror that Harry misses his life as a working royal and that his projects with Netflix aren’t as fulfilling as he thought they’d be.

“He is trained from birth to do one thing only—to be a royal and he has thrown that away. His 100% support for his wife and her business ventures has never wavered, but he doesn’t really have very much to do on a day-to-day basis” Quinn said. “After he’s taken the dog for a walk and maybe gone for a drive, he has nothing to do other than support Meghan.”

Quinn also opened up about Harry’s current situation with his brother, Prince William. Anyone following the royals knows that the two have been at odds since Harry’s memoir, Spare, hit shelves and he sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Since Harry and Meghan Markle left the U.K., they’ve only hopped back across the pond a few times. Once for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral and, more recently, when Harry visited his father after King Charles announced he’d been diagnosed with cancer.

“When it comes to his relatives in the U.K., he is hugely conflicted. He is upset that he’s out in the cold more than ever and is beginning to think that his endless demands for apologies will have to be put on the back burner if some kind of truce is ever to be achieved,” Quinn explained. “He wants a truce partly for selfish reasons—he’s finally realized that he needs to continue being some kind of a royal if the United States is to continue to be interested in him.”

Harry, who is fifth in line to the throne after William and his kids, however, hasn’t expressed anything but love and appreciation for his new life. Back in February, Harry said that he is loving “every single day” of his life in the States, telling Good Morning America that it’s “amazing.”
