The latest MCU show, Agatha All Along, is almost here. Kathryn Hahn originally appeared in WandaVision as the nosy neighbor Agnes, where she was later revealed to be the powerful witch Agatha Harkness, who played a part in the Westview Anomaly. It’s unclear whether a solo series was always in the works for the character, but Agatha’s popularity among fans undoubtedly helped make the WandaVision spinoff a priority. Alongside Hahn’s return there will be some notable new faces joining the MCU through Agatha All Along’s cast, including Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, and Patti LuPone as various witches in Agatha’s coven.
Season 1 of Agatha All Along will pick up where WandaVision left off with Agatha trapped in Westview following her defeat to the Scarlet Witch. After a mysterious teenager helps free her from Wanda’s spell, Agatha will set out to try and regain her powers. Along with her newly recruited group of witches, she will journey out to the infamously dangerous Witches’ Road. The trailers for Agatha All Along feature creative visuals and horror elements that are reminiscent of its parent show, WandaVision, making it a highly anticipated series.
Agatha All Along Episode 1 Releases At 9 PM ET On Disney+
The Show Will Debut Both Episodes 1 & 2 On September 18
Starting on September 18, Agatha All Along will be released weekly on Wednesdays at 9 PM ET on Disney+. It is a notable time change from WandaVision and other MCU Disney+ shows that were released early in the morning. Loki season 2 was the first series to release at 9 PM ET, and to great success, so Marvel is likely looking to shift their TV release schedule to a time slot that works better for more time zones. It’s important to note that both episodes 1 and 2 will be released on September 18 as part of the show’s premiere.
How Many Episodes Agatha All Along Has
The Show Will Air Weekly On Disney+ After Its Premiere
Just like its parent show WandaVision, Agatha All Along season 1 will have nine episodes. Following the two-episode premiere, one episode will be released every Wednesday until the season finale on November 6. Previous shows like The Falcon & The Winter Soldier and Secret Invasion only had six episodes each, with the shortest MCU series being Echo with only five episodes. Nine episodes is the maximum number of episodes that Marvel has run in one season for its Disney+ shows, and it seems to be the model that works best.
Agatha All Along’s nine-episode run means that there will be plenty of time to flesh out a comprehensive story, which is very much needed for a character like Agatha, who has already had so much lore built up. Poor pacing has been a common complaint with some previous Disney+ MCU shows, and having three more episodes than the average MCU season will ensure that no episode feels more rushed than others. The nine-episode run will also take Agatha All Along through the Halloween season, which feels incredibly fitting for a show about a coven of witches.
