Travis Kelce Reveals His Unapologetic Response to Haters Who Say He’s ‘Washed Up’

Travis Kelce isn’t a stranger to dealing with haters—and just like his girlfriend Taylor Swift, he knows how to “Shake It Off.”

The NFL player recently shared how he deals with naysayers during a press conference on Friday, Jan. 24, just days before the Kansas City Chiefs are set to take on the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game on Sunday.

While answering questions on Friday, Kelce, 35, was asked by one reporter about the comments from critics who say he’s “washed [up]” or “slower than he used to be.”

‘Does that make you feel any kind of way?” the reported asked, to which Kelce replied with a smile and a simple, “No.”

“I laugh at it,” he added, while others in the room could be heard letting out some chuckles.

“It’s fun, man,” the tight end continued, while adding, “As long as I’m going out there and we’re winning baby, that’s all that matters.”

The outcome of Sunday’s game will determine whether or not the Chiefs are headed to the Super Bowl for the third year in a row.

Kelce, who has played in the past six AFC championship games, was also asked during Friday’s press conference about advice he has for his teammates who haven’t been in this situation before.

“Just don’t let the lights blind you,” he said. “It’s a big moment, you’re gonna hype it up yourself because you’ve been dreaming about moments like these.”

But, he insisted, “The biggest thing is that you’re good enough. You don’t gotta be anybody that you’re not. You don’t gotta force yourself to be greater than who you are.”

“Now it’s just time to go out there, have fun and just cut it loose.”

The Chiefs’ matchup against the Bills kicks off at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
