Robbie and Greta Gerwig’s film is yet to receive an Oscar, and the fans are naturally upset.

"Why Barbie isn't winning anything": Margot Robbie Fans Have a Meltdown After Oppenheimer Wins 7 Oscars Including Best Picture Of 2024

The results of the 2024 Academy Awards are finally starting to roll in and at the forefront of most of those wins, Oppenheimer has taken the lead with a whopping seven wins in total. This is a huge milestone for not just filmmaker Christopher Nolan, but also the entire cast and crew of the movie, which made it into the masterpiece we know today.

But on the other side, there is Margot Robbie and Great Gerwig’s Barbie, which despite having several nominations, has won in none of the categories. Thus, with no awards coming in its direction, fans of the actress and the film are naturally upset as they have a meltdown on the internet on the bad luck that has fallen on the movie.

Oppenheimer Wins Seven Oscars While Margot Robbie’s Barbie Wins None

Everyone remembers the Barbenheimer phenomenon that swept the globe last year as Barbie and Oppenheimer were the biggest and most popular releases at the global box office with record sales and equally record-setting critical reviews.

Thus, with the Academy Awards being the main focus of those critical appraisals, many believed that these films would win in 2024 in some of their nominated categories.

But as it stands at the moment, the only film from the two that seems to be scoring big at the 2024 Oscars is Christopher Nolan‘s directorial masterpiece, which along with receiving the award for Best Picture, has also enabled the filmmaker to hold the award for Best Director.

These combined with the other awards received by the cast and crew of the film, tallies up to a total of seven wins out of thirteen nominations for Oppenheimer. On the other hand, despite Margot Robbie‘s film being nominated for nine categories, has won none at the moment. Thus, fans on the internet are not taking this news very lightly.

What Do The Fans Have To Say About This?

A still from Barbie A still from Barbie
First, it was the nomination snub of Greta Gerwig for Best Director, and then the movie is being denied an Oscar in every category it’s nominated at the moment. Thus, fans are visibly upset about this series of outcomes.

I would ask why Barbie isn’t winning anything at the #Oscars but that would mean I didn’t learn anything from Barbie pic.twitter.com/ICLI306xpV

While there’s still a high chance that the film will win in the Best Song category for Billie Eilish’s What Was I Made For, the chance of it winning any other category is still a tall order at the moment.
