Timothee Chalamet’s Dune Part Two Has Left Behind Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight in This One Aspect

Timothée Chalamet’s Dune 2 Breaks Record of The Dark Knight, the Same Movie That Inspired Him to Become an Actor

Making his way through indie cinema, Timothee Chalamet has grown to be a shining Hollywood star. His growth as an actor and as a celebrity has been exponential. For his performance in Call Me By Your Name, Chalamet won a nomination for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Critics’ Choice Movie Award, all for the Best Actor category. And that too at the age of twenty-two.

With his latest release, the New York-born star has achieved something so magnificent, which many barely dream of achieving. Dune 2 has surpassed The Dark Knight by breaking a record. The Dark Knight is famously the reason Chalamet became an actor.

Dune: Part Two’s Record-Breaking Performance Leaves The Dark Knight Behind

Dune: Part Two has been one of the most highly-anticipated films of this year. And in a surprising turn of events, not only is the Denis Villeneuve directorial on its way to becoming a blockbuster; it has broken a record that was previously held by films like The Godfather 2, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Empire Strikes Back, and most notably, The Dark Knight.

With the first day of release, the film seems well on its way to becoming a critical and financial success. And with a powerful cast like this, one would not expect any less. As per a Denis Villeneuve update account on X, Dune: Part Two is rated the third-highest second installment film in Rotten Tomatoes history.

This is a big achievement and that too on the first day of release. Christopher Nolan’s film The Dark Knight is number seven on the list.

The Dark Knight Inspired Timothee Chalamet To Be An Actor

Timothee Chalamet didn’t always want to be an actor. Though he was a theater kid in high school, he found himself more inclined to be a rapper than taking up acting as a profession. There are videos online proving teenage Chalamet’s commitment to the rapping bit. However, things changed when he watched Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale’s The Dark Knight.

In an interview with The New York Times, the Little Women actor revealed that he is sworn off superhero movies unless a really great script and director comes by but it was indeed a superhero film that made him want to be an actor. He said:
“Well, Leonardo DiCaprio said to me, ‘No superhero movies, no hard drugs.’ Which I thought was very good. I follow them both! But the movie that made me want to act is a superhero movie, The Dark Knight. If the script was great, if the director was great, I’d have to consider it.”

From watching a movie and making a life-altering decision to working in movies and outdoing the movie, which started it all for him, the world found Timothee Chalamet.

Dune: Part Two can be watched in cinemas and The Dark Knight is available for streaming on Prime Video.
