Sydney Sweeney shares heartbreaking remarks on fans’ negative body comments!

After captivating audiences with her gritty roles in Euphoria and The White Lotus, Sydney Sweeney proved her versatility with her turn in the lighthearted Anyone But You.

Her romantic comedy Anyone But You (a Sony Pictures rom-com co-starring Glen Powell) defied all the expectations, and became a surprise box office hit.

The actress even impressed with her hosting stint on Saturday Night Live. But beyond acting, Sweeney is making waves as a producer, too.

Disappointed by the lack of input she had on the recent superhero film Madame Web, Sweeney is determined to make her mark as a producer with Fifty-Fifty Films.

Her production company is behind Immaculate, a dark thriller set to be released in 3 days. In the film, the 26-year-old plays a nun whose life takes a horrifying turn. While Hollywood seems to be taking notice of Sweeney’s talent, there’s a darker side to her success.

Sydney Sweeney Addresses Fans’ Negative Body Comments

In a recent interview with Variety, Sydney Sweeney addressed the constant objectification she faces from some fans regarding her body. Despite her professional success, Sweeney grapples with the downside of fame.

Sweeney finds it hard to understand why people criticize her appearance disrespectfully. She lamented that fans can’t distinguish between her on-screen character and her real self. The actress went on to say:

“People feel connected and free to be able to speak about me in whatever way they want, because they believe that I’ve signed my life away…That I’m not on a human level anymore, because I’m an actor. That these characters are for everybody else, but then me as Sydney is not for me anymore. It’s this weird relationship that people have with me that I have no control or say over.”

Her situation is a real bummer. She’s killing it in Hollywood, landing these great roles, but then there’s this flip side. People are constantly judging her looks, and it seems like they can’t tell the difference between who she is on screen and who she really is.

Sydney Sweeney is Unfazed by Poor Madame Web‘s Reception

Sydney Sweeney isn’t letting her first foray into the superhero genre dampen her spirits. While Madame Web, starring Dakota Johnson, didn’t meet box office expectations, she remains focused on her upcoming projects.

In the film, Sweeney portrayed Julia Cornwall, a version of Spider-Woman. Sources close to the young star said she’s staying positive about her career, and that she is unfazed by the initial reaction to Madame Web.

Sweeney has spoken openly in an interview with the Los Angeles Times about her role in the film, saying, “I was just hired as an actress in it, so I was just along for the ride.”

While the film didn’t achieve the desired results, Sweeney even managed to find some humor in the situation. During her recent hosting stint on Saturday Night Live, she playfully acknowledged the film’s reception with the quip, “You definitely didn’t see me in Madame Web.”

The Spokane native’s next project, Immaculate, promises a return to the critically-acclaimed work she’s known for. Fans can look forward to seeing her in a different light when the film hits theaters this month.

Immaculate is set to release on March 22nd.
