Mark Dodson Passed Away Due To A Massive Heart Attack While Sleeping

Mark Dodson was attending a horror convention event in Evansville, Indiana, said her daughter to TMZ. The voice actor suffered a “massive heart attack” while sleeping, resulting in his unfortunate demise at the age of 64. The news was shared by the organizers of the horror con. They took to Facebook to share the sad news.
“We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Mark Dodson last night. Mark was not only a talented voice actor but also a cherished member of the horror community.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fans during this incredibly difficult time. We hope that you can take a moment out of your day to reflect on the joy and laughter that Mark brought into the world His legacy will live on through his work.

Speaking to TMZ, Dodson’s daughter also exclaimed that her father “never ceased making (her) proud.”

Mark Dodson Was Known For Star Wars and The Gremlins

Mark Dodson had his breakout role in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. He voiced Salacious B. Crumb, the shabby partner of crime lord Jabba The Hutt. In the grand fight between Luke and Anakin Skywalker, Crumb was almost nothing. But, Dodson’s great voice made this character a memorable one.

After Star Wars, he landed work in Gremlins (1984). He voiced Mogwai in the movie which led to a generation of kids trying to imitate his voice at the time. Speaking to TMZ, Dodson’s rep said that “his unique voice and sound to each character and script he touched.”

Besides these two movieshe also lent his voice to Day of the Dead, Gremlins 2, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He also worked on commercials and video games like Ghostrunner II, Bendy and the Dark Revival, and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
