The moment of joy has finally arrived for Robert Downey Jr. fans as the star took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for Oppenheimer. The Iron Man star’s performance as Admiral Lewis Strauss was hailed by critics and audiences as one of the greatest by the actor. Following the late Heath Ledger, RDJ becomes the second actor to win an Oscar in a Christopher Nolan film.

Robert Downey Jr. continued the trend of keeping his speeches entertaining even at the Academy Awards. Besides the Academy, he also thanked his troubled past and wife, Susan Downey’s support for the award.
“I’d like to thank my terrible childhood and the Academy — in that order. I’d like to thank my veterinarian — I meant wife, Susan Downey over there. She found me a snarling rescue pet and you loved me back to life. That’s why I’m here.”
The Sherlock Holmes actor impressed the fans when he acknowledged the importance of the project on his career. He went on to admit that he needed the project more than it needed him. He also thanked his co-stars and each member of his team to conclude his speech.
