Warner Bros. released Greta Gerwig’s Barbie last summer, on July 21, 2023, and it became an instant pop culture phenomenon before going on to end the year as the No. 1 movie of the year thanks to a $1.445 billion dollar finish. The pink-a-palooza continued with an awards season run — capped by eight Oscar nominations including one for best picture — that’s come complete with a high fashion promo tour thanks to producer and star Margot Robbie.

But now that the Oscars are just hours away, the A-lister revealed what her plans are come next week during a brief interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Saturday night before heading into Chanel and Charles Finch’s 15th annual pre-Oscars dinner at Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills. But first, Robbie was keen to name two of her favorite Chanel looks she’s worn recently.

“I love the four-piece suit I wore to the Oscar nominees luncheon,” offered Robbie, a ubiquitous presence at award shows, screenings, press events and fashion parties, often wearing custom looks in varying shades of pink. “Because that was just such a specifically Chanel thing to do with a four-piece suit, and that was a really fun recreation.”

Another top look, she continued, is the one she wore in both the film and on the cover of the new Barbie press tour book from Rizzoli, Barbie: The World Tour by Robbie with Andrew Mukamal. “That was initially worn by Claudia Schiffer, and I love that because when I put on the little bra top, it still had her name written on the inside. It is the exact thing she wore. Putting that on, I was just like, wow, because she’s such an incredible Barbie reference in herself. It’s an iconic Chanel outfit worn by an iconic woman.”

While she’s expected to wear pink on Sunday, fashion insiders have been speculating lately just how long Robbie will continue to wear the shade once the Barbie run ends. Though she didn’t say, Robbie did reveal pink will always have a place in her wardrobe. “I will love it forever,” Robbie said. “I only have happy memories associated with it. I love the color. It looks great on everyone.”

Robbie attended Saturday night’s event joined by one of her best friends, Anna, and the two mingled with fellow nominees, including her Barbie pal America Ferrera, Colman Domingo, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Cord Jefferson, Celine Song, Jeffrey Wright, Jonathan Glazer and guests like Usher, Kerry Washington, Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe, Chloe Sevigny, Tessa Thompson, Alexandra Shipp, Dominic Sessa and more.

Robbie’s had more than enough reasons to raise a glass with Barbie’s billion-dollar success and the awards season love, and she also has one very obvious reason to rest: the bonkers Barbie schedule. So, how will she celebrate the end of the blockbuster run once the Oscars are over?

“I am going to switch my phone off for about a week,” she said. “I’m sure that’s about as long as I could possibly get away with it. And just chill.”
