Dakota Johnson’s Madame Web was supposed to be yet another glamorous entry to Sony’s Spider-Verse by bringing the titular Cassandra Webb to life on-screen for the first time. Yet, following the recent grand success of other Marvel movies, the spider-flick has turned out to be a major disappointment.

While video game addicts would know Hideo Kojima as the genius behind some of the most revolutionary games such as Death Stranding and Metal Gear, cinema lovers would know him best for his fondness for cinema and movies.

The Tokyo-based video game creator has been obsessed with movies and cinema and often gives pretty unusual reviews on his official social media profiles about the various movies or series he has watched. In a new documentary, Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds, Kojima stated about his love for movies,
“For me, films are the sun. It’s like a plant’s photosynthesis with sunbeams. I want to receive its beams to stimulate my cells and to inspire new creations.”
Seeing his extensive love for movies, his reviews are often looked upon by his many fans, who even request him to review movies. And so in an X post, Kojima gave his extensive review on the Dakota Johnson starrer Madame Web.

Stated Kojima in the post. While most of us would think that hardly counts as a review, Kojima is famous for writing entire threads for movies he loves. And for the movies, he doesn’t the video games designer usually writes something similarly ambiguous, implying that he did not at all like the movie.

Previously Kojima has given similar reviews about movies like The MarvelsIndiana Jones 5, and Pacific Rim 2, etc. However, it is his review for the spider-flick that has left his fans cracking up.

Fans React To Hideo Kojima’s Review For Madame Web

Just mere hours ago Hideo Kojima tweeted an extensive review for Argylle, praising the movie and calling it pretty satisfying. While fans are shocked over his preference since the movie has been critically blasted ever since it was released, it is his six-word review for Madame Web that truly amazed them.

the best thing abt hideo reviews is there will always be ppl out of the know who will just be like oh cool he saw a movie, not knowing it’s the kojima equivalent to saying “man fuck this” https://t.co/5Qq35v5B2T

Versus things he did like. If he puts his heart and soul into the post then he likes it, if he just says he watched it then he didn’t like it just in case anyone doesn’t understand. These images below for an example of him liking it. pic.twitter.com/WasFyq2G9c

It’s pretty simple, whenever he enjoys a film he will write a brief review on his post however any film he doesn’t enjoy literally has one sentence saying he just went to go see it 🤣

Well, if the fans and critics haven’t given enough hints, Hideo Kojima’s review serves as an ample hint for Sony to wait and re-think their Spider-Verse.

Madame Web is in cinemas now.
