Lola Glaudini claims ‘Blow’ co-star Johnny Depp called her a ‘f—king idiot’ on set in resurfaced interview

Lola Glaudini claimed “Blow” co-star Johnny Depp “reamed” her out on the set of the 2001 crime thriller.

In a recently resurfaced interview from January, the “Criminal Minds” star claimed Depp berated her for laughing during a take despite the film’s director, Ted Demme, allegedly instructing her to do so.

“The very first day, I haven’t even met Johnny Depp at this point,” she told co-host Alex 2 Tone during an appearance on the “Powerful Truth Angels” podcast, noting that she was laying on a “bear skin rug in a bikini” in the background of the shot.

However, Glaudini claimed that the director was the one who instructed her to laugh.
“Ted Demme comes over to me, and he’s like, ‘OK Lola, when Johnny Depp says this certain word, I want you to burst out laughing like [he] just told you the funniest thing over here.’”

When the cameras began rolling, the actress did exactly what she was told to do. However, her laughter allegedly struck a nerve with the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor, 60.

“Johnny Depp, when they say cut, walks over to me, comes up to me, sticks his finger in my face … and he goes, ‘Who the f—k do you think you are? Who the f—k do you think you are? Shut the f—k up. I’m out here, and I’m trying to f—king say my lines and you’re f—king pulling focus. You f—king idiot. Oh, now, oh now it’s not so funny? Now you can shut up? Now you can f—king shut the f—k up? The quiet that you are right now, that’s how you f—king stay.’”

Glaudini, now 52, was left shaken by the alleged incident, especially after spending so many years admiring Depp’s work.

“This was my first studio movie, I’ve just done indies until then,” she explained. “And I have the star who I have idolized, who I am so excited to work with, reamed me in my face. The only thing going through my head was, ‘Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry.’”

She noted that the late director, who died less than a year after the film’s release, “did not come over and say anything.”

“He did say, ‘Hey, listen, Johnny, you know what, I actually gave her that direction,’” she recalled.

Despite the alleged confrontation, Glaudini had to continue filming for “five or six” more hours before she could call her dad, who told her she “had two choices” moving forward.

“‘You can either say f—k this and f—k you and I am not going to be spoken to like that,’” she claimed her dad told her. “‘Or you never let him see you sweat.’”

Glaudini ultimately decided to continue working on the movie and Depp gave her a “non-apology apology” later that day.

The “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” star allegedly came up to her and said, “You know, so earlier I was really in my head and staying in my character, I’m doing this Boston accent, and it’s really f—king with me. So I’m a little tense and stuff. So I just wanted to make sure we’re cool and everything?”

“And I just looked at him and I was like, ‘I don’t know what you are talking about. Of course, what are you talking about? We’re totally cool.’”

A rep for the “Edward Scissorhands” star told Page Six that the actor has always prioritized maintaining good working relationships with his co-stars and that Glaudini’s account differs greatly from the recollection of other members on set.

They pointed to the fact that Samuel Sarkar, who was credited as a sound technician on the film, told Variety that he didn’t remember the alleged confrontation between the two actors.

“I worked on that movie in the sound department.  As a sound person, you’re constantly listening to what is going on on set, listening for noises, listening for chatter,” he told the outlet in a statement.

“In fact, specifically, I would listen to Johnny’s audio to check for interference, both during rehearsals and during the take. I never heard anything like that – and that would have been a remarkable event.”

In 2022, Depp won a defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard, who referred to herself as a public figure representing domestic abuse in a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post.
