“I was too old for that movie”: Scarlett Johansson Lost 1 Role to Lindsay Lohan That Latter’s Father Believes Should Have Landed Her an Oscar

Scarlett Johansson lost out on a role to Lindsay Lohan back in the 90s because of one reason

Scarlett Johansson is one of the most successful Hollywood actors out there. That is to be expected from a star who has acted in a plethora of famous works, including the likes of Avengers, Lucy, Her, and Lost in Translation, amongst other famous works. But that doesn’t mean that she has not faced the odd setback. Even she has had to face numerous rejections time and again, including losing out on a role to Lindsay Lohan.

Scarlett Johansson did not have it easy

Before Scarlett Johansson made it big as a Hollywood star, she had her fair share of struggles in the industry. It must be difficult for fans to believe that the Marriage Story star found it difficult to catch her big break very early.

That is the the case with most stars though. It is not easy to grab your first role, the role that will help you rise to the heights of your career; the much coveted big break every aspiring star looks out for. And Johansson would have to lose out on numerous potential big breaks.

Scarlett Johansson began her acting career at a very young age. Having made an appearance in North all the way back in 1994, many would have expected her future days in Hollywood to be a cakewalk. Her career as a child actor would thrive further, bagging roles in movies like Home Alone 3, The Horse Whisperer, and Ghost World.

That doesn’t mean everything turned out well for the star in her early years. There was the odd role which she didn’t bag. The Under The Skin star would lose out on various roles back in those days, including a time when she was snubbed in favor of Lindsay Lohan.

Disney’s 1998 reboot of The Trap, titled The Parent Trap will be remembered for many reasons. The most prominent being the fact that it was the flick that announced the arrival of Lindsay Lohan on the big stage. What if someone told you that was never meant to be?

Speaking years down the lane, the 39-year-old revealed that the role was never coming her way. Why? The reason is quite odd indeed. She said,

“I was too old for that movie when I auditioned for it. Maybe when it came out, I was also too old to watch it.” (The Things)

It’s strange, isn’t it? Johansson could have been a part of the film, but fate ensured that she didn’t even watch it.
