Dune star Austin Butler links up with popular English musician and actor Sting who famously played Feyd-Rautha in David Lynch’s 1984 adaptation.

Dune: Part 2 star Austin Butler meets former Feyd-Rautha actor, Sting, at the premiere of the adaptation’s highly anticipated sequel. Based on Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel of the same name, the Denis Villeneuve directed adaptation follows the story of Paul Atriedes (Timothée Chalamet), an ambitious and gifted boy who must secure the future of his noble family on a desert planet called Arrakis. The upcoming Dune: Part Two, is set for release on March 1 and will continue the story of Paul, as he journeys to avenge his family.

The official Dune Twitter posted a picture of Austin Butler who plays the villainous Feyd-Rautha at the premiere of Dune: Part Two, with English musician Sting, who played Feyd-Rautha in David Lynch’s 1984 adaptation.

Captioned with “Seeing double at the #DuneMovie premiere in NYC,” the photo features the two posing together. Both actors look far different in the image than their respective roles.

The first part of this highly-rated Villeneuve adaptation left out certain central characters from Frank Herbert’s novel, most notably Feyd Rautha. The forthcoming sequel, however, focuses on the second part of Herbert’s famous works and is set to feature Feyd Rautha, who Austin Butler will play. Feyd is the nephew of Baron Harkonnen and is the next successor in House Harkonnen.

His character is set to be a strong competition against Paul and, in several ways, the two share striking similarities as they’re both shouldering huge responsibilities for their respective families.

Feyd Rautha is a deceptive and fierce character who is a key part of his uncle Baron’s plans to seize power. Baron took a quick liking to Feyd because, just like him, he’s also ruthless and power-hungry. Like Butler, Sting was featured more in the second half of Lynch’s Dune, culminating with Paul’s final battle. However, Butler will not be wearing Sting’s iconic and bizarre costume. Butler is known for immersing himself in the various eccentric roles he’s played over the years, and with the forthcoming Dune: Part Two, it would be interesting to see how he interprets one of Dune’s most pivotal characters.
