Actor Norman Reedus has continued his role as Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon spinoff. He has portrayed Daryl since the first season of TWD, which was released in 2010. He will star in the third season of the series that will premiere in 2025. Next, Reedus’ fans can see him in the latest installment of the world of John Wick, Ballerina, starring Ana De Armas.

From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, or simply Ballerina is the fifth film in the franchise that was created by Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard) and written by Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum). The new movie is a spinoff which takes place between Parabellum and Hagakure.

A recent featurette for Ballerina is an in-depth behind-the-scenes look at filming. The video was released at Comic-Con Brazil by Lionsgate. This new look at the movie and De Armas’ Ava highlights the action-packed story that John Wick fans have come to expect from the franchise.

Norman Reedus talks fight scenes in Ballerina

In a recent interview with Collider, Reedus sheds some light on the differences he has experienced filming Walking Dead scenes and Ballerina.

“It’s a different fighting style, totally. The Walking Dead’s very sloppy, this is very choreographed and a lot of people put it together to make it safe and look spectacular.”

He also attributes his motorcycle riding skills to prepare him for the action sequences.

“When I ride a motorcycle sometimes, when I’m on a trip, and I’m going around a corner, I’ll imagine how to lay down the bike just in case I have to lay it down last minute. There was a lot of that in that first scene. There’s a lot of sharp stuff I don’t want to put my hands on, steps being removed underneath my feet. There’s a lot of bang, bang, bang, bang.”

Joining Reedus and De Armas are John Wick veterans Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Anjelica Huston, and the late Lance Riddick. Actors newly cast in the franchise include Gabriel Byrne, Cataline Sandino Moreno, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and David Castañeda.

Ballerina will be released in theaters on June 6, 2025. Check out the official trailer for the film below.

Reedus recently appeared in Jeff Nichols’ The Bikeriders. He will reprise his role as Murphy MacManus in the third installment of The Boondock Saints and a psychological drama, The Housewife, which is based on a true story.
