Gen V star Lizze Broadway recently revealed that she would be interested in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Speaking with Heroic Hollywood, Broadway revealed that, aside from The Boys Universe, she is obsessed with “the Marvel world with like Avengers and stuff,” especially Iron Man. “Like I was into… I mean, like, Robert Downey Jr., hello, hi! I would love to be your daughter. Please adopt me,” she joked. “My friend turned me into the Spider-Gwen, like in the comics with that. But other than that, I’ve been kinda in the Boys realm,” Broadway added.
When the topic of joining the MCU came up, Broadway stated she would jump at the chance even if it was intimidating at first. “I mean if the opportunity came up like I would love to maybe play Spider-Gwen. That would be kinda cool,” she added. When Heroic Hollywood pointed out that Broadway would also make a great Black Cat, the actor remarked, “I mean I feel like the Marvel world just keeps expanding! So I’m totally down if that opportunity comes. I’d be like, ‘Okay, let’s have some fun!'”
Who Is Spider-Gwen?
Debuting in Edge of Spider-Verse #2 in 2014, Spider-Gwen is an alternate version of Gwen Stacy from Earth-65 who was bitten by a radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker. Spider-Gwen was well-received by critics and fans, leading to her quickly being adapted in various animated projects, such as the Marvel Rising franchise, where she was known as Ghost-Spider instead of Spider-Gwen. Hailee Steinfeld has also voiced the character in the animated Spider-Man films Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and Across the Spider-Verse (2023). She will also return to voice Spider-Gwen in the upcoming Beyond the Spider-Verse.
