Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘hoping to reconnect with the royal family’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been estranged from the royal family for years, but it seems they could now be opening up to the possibility of a reunion

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “working towards a royal reunion,” according to a source.

The Duke of Sussex is currently appealing a decision to remove his tax-payer funded security in the U.K. and a source recently claimed he is “cautiously optimistic” about the outcome. If Harry were to win the appeal, it could result in a trip to England for his family.

“Harry is still trying to work out the security issues so his kids can go to the U.K. safely,” the source claimed, noting how Harry has previously blamed the lack of police protection for why his children haven’t accompanied him on trips to the U.K.

The source insisted, “He and Meghan really do want to spend some quality time in his homeland.” They suggested Harry and Meghan “regret the absence of family and their connection to England.”

“Slowly but surely, they are working towards a royal reunion. The signs are all there,” the source continued. Speaking to Life & Style Magazine, they suggested Harry misses his family and said Meghan has “softened toward them.”

It’s also believed the couple want their children to get to know their family better, including King Charles. However, it remains to be seen whether the royal family would agree to a reconciliation.

“Kate is up for a reunion, but William is the holdout,” the source alleged. “He has trust issues with Harry and he still questions his motives. Camilla also isn’t convinced.”

The comments come as Harry has argued that taking away his automatic U.K. protection has made it dangerous for his family to travel there. As a consequence, the Duke of Sussex has taken steps to challenge this by going through the appeal process, with the case having recently been presented before the court.

In the hearing, Harry’s attorney said, “One must not forget the human dimension of this case. There is a person who is sitting behind me whose safety, whose security and whose life is at stake.”

While the verdict of Harry’s appeal is still pending, he has consistently maintained that he will not expose his family to U.K. risks until he’s assured of their safety. Despite Harry’s multiple trips to his home country since leaving the royal family, Meghan and their children have rarely been seen in the U.K. — their latest trip was in 2022.
