Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Christmas card photo from several years ago shows the couple alongsie their two children – and the message that went with it revealed the name that Archie and Lilibet have for their father
The name that Prince Harry goes by with his children Archie and Lilibet has been revealed – and it’s utterly adorable.
Harry and wife Meghan Markle delighted fans by releasing a gorgeous family snap, which featured on the front of their 2021 Christmas card. The stunning image was the first they’d released of their daughter Lilibet, who was born in June 2021, and it also gave a rare glimpse of their son Archie – who has gorgeous red hair just like Harry. As well as the photo, the card also featured a message from Harry and Meghan that wished people a ‘Happy Holidays’.

And it also let slip that rather than using the usual name of dad or daddy – Harry’s children actually call him Papa. In the card, the couple wrote: “This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa’, and Lili made us a family.” It seems using the name Papa rather than dad is common in the royal family.
In April 2021, when paying tribute to his father Prince Philip, King Charles, who was still Prince of Wales at the time, referred to him as his “dear papa”. While Harry himself has been seen calling Charles ‘Pa’ – the shortened version of Papa. The adorable family photo that accompanies the message was taken by photographer Alexi Lubomirski at Harry and Meghan’s home in California in the summer of 2021.

It shows Meghan proudly holding Lilibet, who is now three, with the tot smiling back joyfully at her mum. Harry looks on laughing, while Archie also has a big smile on his face. Harry, Meghan and Archie all look casual in jeans while Lilibet wears a cute white outfit. When it came to Archie, many couldn’t believe his beautiful locks and likened them to those of his dad Harry.
One wrote on Twitter : “Look at Archie! Adorable. Looks like Lilibet will have red hair too. Beautiful.” Another said: “OMG Archie’s hair is making my day.” And when it came to Lilibet, some fans pointed out how her nose resembled her mum Meghan’s. One said: “Lili has Meghan’s nose.” While another said: “Archie’s red hair and curls and Lili looking cute as ever with her mama’s nose!”
