‘Oh, pleasant surprise’ Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t drive luxury supercars like Lamborghini and Ferrari

While we’re used to seeing billionaires drive exotic supercars like Lamborghinis and Ferraris, Mark Zuckerberg prefers a homegrown sedan.

‘Wow, pleasantly surprised’: What does Mark Zuckerberg drive?

Most billionaires opt for elaborate European supercars, but Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s choice of a daily driver is as American as apple pie.

In a social media post uploaded to Instagram – which is also owned by Zuckerberg under his Meta parent company – the 40-year-old billionaire shared his preferred daily driver with The Hoonigans co-founder Brian Scotto.

What does Mark Zuckerberg drive?

“So what does @zuck drive? Any guesses…” Scotto commented on the post, to which Zuckerberg replied “Mostly Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing these days but sometimes other things”.

Instagram commenters were seemingly surprised by Zuckerberg’s response, with one user writing “Wow pleasantly surprised, great choice for a daily”.

Another remarked “Dude’s changed for sure. He might surprise us with his daily”.

While the Facebook CEO didn’t disclose what particular year of CT5-V he opted for, prices for the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing start from $US95,595 ($AU140,506) before on-road costs and customer specifications.

‘Wow, pleasantly surprised’: What does Mark Zuckerberg drive?

The CT5-V Blackwing variant is powered by a hand-built 6.2-litre supercharged V8 with a 668 horsepower output. Cadillac claims the performance sedan is capable of a 0–100km/h sprint in 3.4 seconds.

Though not as exotic as a supercar from the likes of Lamborghini or Ferrari, the US car maker stated on its website the production version of the latest CT5-V performance sedan would be available from “late 2024”, with the road-going Blackwing variant “extremely limited” in production numbers.

The CT5-V sedan is not available in Australia. However, Cadillac is one of the latest manufacturers to join the domestic car industry, with the upcoming Lyriq electric SUV due to arrive in Australian showrooms before the end of 2024.

Despite key Cadillac figures stating the brand will consider every option for the domestic market, General Motors (GM) vice president of international markets, Shilpan Amin, said any petrol-powered model is not in Cadillac’s Australian plans.

“Our Cadillac plan will be an all-EV plan for Australia,” Amin told Australian media, including Drive.

“I think there’s a limited lifeline… if you enter [new] markets with a brand and you’re going to bring in [petrol] products that have an end of life.

“[But] it’s different market by market. You’re going to invest a lot of time and effort to build a customer base that eventually you won’t be able to fulfil,” Amin added.

Zuckerberg recently announced a couple of other new additions to his personal fleet, including a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT that has been transformed into a minivan, and matching “his and hers” manual Porsche GT3 Touring sports cars.

According to his latest Instagram post, the Cayenne minivan was produced by US-based car customisation retailer West Coast Customs, which was famously featured in the now-defunct MTV reality show, Pimp My Ride.

While neither West Coast Customs nor Zuckerberg has disclosed the total price of the project, the 2024 version of the luxury SUV starts from $AU371,700 before on-road costs and tailored specifications.

The Cayenne Turbo GT is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo eight-cylinder engine, with a claimed output of 485kW and 850Nm and is capable of a 0–100km/h sprint in 3.3 seconds.
