Does the MCU have so little faith in its messiah?
Get ready for one of the most hyped Marvel releases of the year! Deadpool & Wolverine are on their way to tickle your funny bone (and possibly rip a few off) with their buddy anti-hero action comedy, and we finally have an official synopsis that sounds as nuts as the genre we mentioned above. And it seems like Marvel Studios is fully into this R-rated ride.
Though the previous trailers have perfectly encapsulated the wild adventure fans can expect in the upcoming MCU flick, the various cameos and multiple plotlines might sound rather confusing. And it seems like the studio is just as clueless and quite fed up with Wade Wilson’s gore-filled shenanigans.
Marvel Studios reveals the official Deadpool & Wolverine synopsis
Ever since the news about Hugh Jackman’s return as the clawed mutant was confirmed in Deadpool & Wolverine, fans have been intrigued would be an understatement. And when the trailer dropped, it raised the meter for hype, speculation, and skepticism manifold.
It seems like the MCU might be sharing the same sentiment, as they recently revealed the official synopsis, which reads: Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date—’Deadpool & Wolverine.’ A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctantlier… reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to—F*ck. Synopses are so f*cking stupid.
The hilarious plot detail has sent ripples of laughter among the fan community, and possibly hints at their faith in ‘MCU’s Jesus‘.
Moreover, fans can expect a surprise waiting for them outside the movie theatres when the film arrives, a special popcorn bucket courtesy of Deadpool.
Deadpool & Wolverine popcorn bucket will be weirder than Dune 2
While moviegoers await the July release of Deadpool’s MCU debut, another film from Ryan Reynolds had its premiere last week. Reynolds was the target of a playful inquiry on a Deadpool & Wolverine promotional item during the IF premiere. The question was hinting at a popcorn bucket from Dune 2 that went viral and became famous for all the wrong reasons.
The massive sandworm creature from Dune served as the inspiration for the design, which wasn’t the best for popping popcorn. Fans also saw parallels between the prop and certain s*x toys. The reporter inquired if Reynolds had something similar in mind for Deadpool 3. He replied: Oh, I’ve been working on that today actually. But… you just wait. You just wait, Jacob.
While the hilarious design flaw of Dune 2‘s popcorn bucket was unintentional, it seems like Deadpool & Wolverine‘s won’t be the case.
Tickets are already are already on sale on Fandango right now. So what are you waiting for? Grab your tickets and get ready for the multiversal dark comedy ride!
