Following her last appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Gamora actress Zoe Saldaña opens up on a potential return to the MCU franchise.

Guardians of the Galaxy actress Zoe Saldaña shares whether or not she sees herself coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Gamora and if the team’s story as a whole will continue. Following the thrilling conclusion to the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, the MCU audience has yet to get an answer on whether or not Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4 is happening. As James Gunn has finished his collaboration with Marvel Studios, and is now focused on running DC Studios.

In an upcoming episode of The Playlist’s Discourse Podcast, Saldaña talks about whether or not she sees the MCU being part of her acting career in the future after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and The Playlist has shared some of her thoughts ahead of the episode’s full debut. While Saldaña doesn’t see Gamora being on the table for her as an actress, the MCU alum stressed that she hopes that Marvel Studios will continue the story of the Guardians of the Galaxy and that Gamora can still return without her, sharing the following:

I mean, so far, I think that she is [gone for good] for me, but I don’t think Gamora has gone for good. I would think it would be a huge loss for Marvel if they didn’t find a way to bring back the Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s just such a fan-favorite group of misfits, you know? And then at the helm, they had a voice like James Gunn’s writing — which is just so marvelous for and very specific for this genre. And it’s so great for this genre as well. So, I would be the first one in the first row to sort of celebrate when the Guardians of the Galaxy come back.

What Have Other Guardians Of The Galaxy Stars Said About Their MCU Future & Who Is Most Likely To Be Back

With Saldaña seemingly done as Gamora, for now, other Guardians of the Galaxy stars have had different responses in regards to their potential returns. Dave Bautista has confirmed that he is done as Drax after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, meaning the MCU would have to recast the part if they bring the character back. For Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, who voices Rocket Raccoon and Groot respectively, they haven’t been as clear on whether or not they are done with the MCU for the time being.

Given the setup for The Legendary Star-Lord, Chris Pratt is most likely going to return as he has been on the record for wanting to come back to the MCU, despite Gunn’s departure. if there is another Guardians of the Galaxy project in any capacity, it would likely focus on the new members who ended up joining the team at the end of the threequel, including Adam Warlock. With MCU alum Sean Gunn having new gigs in the DC Universe, he revealed to Screen Rant that he isn’t sure what is in store for the team in the MCU.

For the time being, the MCU doesn’t need to rush another Guardians of the Galaxy movie, as they have plenty to deal with The Multiverse Saga, which has faced numerous behind-the-scenes changes across TV and film. If anything, they may be back in Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars, as the whole MCU deals with the fate of the multiverse. But for now, the world will have to wait and see where the Guardians of the Galaxy may show up next in the franchise.
