Zendaya recently reflected on how Spider-Man: Homecoming was a big change for her and MCU co-star Tom Holland, revealing how Holland reacted to his new Spider-Man fame. Previous to becoming Spider-Man, Holland was best known for doing plays in the West End, and had achieved some minor success in films like Pilgrimage, where he starred alongside fellow MCU star Jon Bernthal. However, Holland quickly became more widely known after his debut in the MCU.

In an interview with Vogue, Zendaya recently discussed how both she and Holland’s careers were affected by Spider-Man: Homecoming. Zendaya also mentioned that, although her career was already somewhat underway, Holland’s got a huge jump start from his first solo MCU outing. Zendaya discussed how Holland handled his newfound fame, saying:

“We were both very, very young, but my career was already kind of going, and his changed overnight. One day you’re a kid and you’re at the pub with your friends, and then the next day you’re Spider-Man. I definitely watched his life kind of change in front of him. But he handled it really beautifully.”

Zendaya makes it clear that, despite the massive change Spider-Man: Homecoming created in Tom Holland’s life, he didn’t let it affect him negatively.
