A post featuring live-action Spider-Verse art has imagined what Zendaya’s MJ would look like in 9 different Spider-Man costumes. Now that the MCU’s Multiverse Saga is past the halfway mark, multiversal shenanigans have been kicked into overdrive, with Peter Parker’s latest cinematic outing being the epicenter of a significant multiversal event. This saw villains (and Spider-Men) from other cinematic universes visiting the MCU, while it culminated in everybody who knew Peter Parker forgetting him entirely, including his girlfriend, MJ. With her MCU future now uncertain, some fans have imagined a compelling way to keep her a part of the narrative.

In a post by @buffy2ville via Instagram, Zendaya’s MJ has been rendered in various versions of a spider-suit as a chaotic scene of New York City in ruins forms the backdrop. The suits comprise some familiar looks, such as that of the MCU’s Spider-Man and one reminiscent of the pink-and-white Spider-Gwen from the animated Spider-Verse franchise. Others have yet to be seen on screen, however, such as a monochrome version of Gwen Stacy’s suit, and a a blue and white version that help make a convincing case for a Spider-Man variant played by Zendaya. Will Zendaya Return For The MCU’s Spider-Man 4?

Details surrounding the MCU’s Spider-Man 4 are still scarce, and casting has yet to be confirmed for the anticipated sequel. Until more details emerge, Zendaya’s MJ is in an intriguing position after having her memory of Peter Parker completely wiped by the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. This compounded a tragic ending that was already established by the death of Peter’s Aunt May and saw Peter resolve to keep those he loved dearly out of his life as a way of protecting them from the trouble that surrounds him.

This would be a poignant place to leave things and help draw a line beneath the first era of Spider-Man before Spider-Man 4 begins a new one. Peter has now moved into his own apartment and will ostensibly be striking out alone once more, now that he has regained absolute anonymity. With that in mind, he may find another love interest to help him move on with his life. Then again, the star power of Zendaya, the plot threads left open by her friend Ned Leeds, and the fact that MJ is a popular character are good signs.
