Ryan Reynolds has been promoting his upcoming MCU film Deadpool & Wolverine every chance he gets. During the premiere of his new film IF, directed by John Krasinski, Reynolds jokingly talked about adopting a particular promotional material that went viral during Dune: Part Two‘s release. The Green Lantern actor shared that he is in the process of developing a Deadpool popcorn bucket after one reporter asked him about the same.

Ryan Reynolds is back as the ‘Merc with a Mouth’ in his upcoming third movie in the Deadpool franchise. While fans wait for the MCU film to hit theaters in July, another film from the actor had its premiere on Tuesday and it will hit theaters this coming Friday. During the premiere of IF, one cheeky question was directed at Reynolds about a promotional material for Deadpool & Wolverine.

The question referred to the viral Dune 2 popcorn bucket that gained notoriety for all the wrong reasons. The design was inspired by the sandworm monster in Dune and it was not the most practical design for enjoying popcorn. Moreover, fans also drew similarities between the prop and certain s*x toys. The reporter asked if Reynolds was interested in bringing out a similar prop.

Reynolds was well aware of the Dune 2 situation and he had a funny reply for the reporter. He answered that he had been working on the Deadpool popcorn bucket and fans just had to wait for it at theaters. Reynolds shared (via @ComplexPop): “Oh, I’ve been working on that today actually. But… you just wait. You just wait, Jacob. And Jacobs.”

Fans just couldn’t imagine what the Free Guy actor would come up with if he were to release popcorn buckets akin to Dune 2. Interestingly, even the stars of the Denis Villeneuve film were disgusted by the design of the popcorn bucket. When Jimmy Kimmel introduced the bucket during Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Zendaya and Florence Pugh refused to touch the bucket as they were too disgusted by the prop.
