X-23’s Potential Deadpool & Wolverine Cameo Gets Definitive Response From Logan’s Dafne Keen

Hugh Jackman's Logan from Deadpool & Wolverine and X-23 in the Logan movie

As Deadpool & Wolverine is getting closer to its release, Logan actor Dafne Keen chimes in on whether X-23 will be part of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe installment. With 2024 only having one MCU movie coming out, it will still be a major deal for The Multiverse Saga. The Phase 5 movie is already lining up numerous cameos by past X-Men characters, but there have been speculations about whether Dafne Keen is part of the Deadpool & Wolverine cast as X-23 after making her Marvel debut in 2017’s Logan.

In a new interview with On Demand Entertainment for the new Star Wars series, The Acolyte, Keen was asked if she will be back as X-23 in Deadpool & Wolverine. As much as she would have loved to be part of the Deadpool & Wolverine cast, Keen responded that she will be seeing the MCU movie as a fan. She then extended that she would love to be back as Laura, saying “Listen up, Marvel!” Read Keen’s full comment below:

Of course it’s sad. I love Hugh and creatively, I love Ryan and I love Shawn. I’m really excited to see what they’ve made. I think Shawn is one of the best directors out there right now. Obviously, Ryan’s a legend. It would have been amazing to be part of it, but I’ll just go watch it as a fan, to see my old buddy in it.

Is Dafne Keen’s Cameo Truly Not Happening In Deadpool & Wolverine?

Some Marvel Actors Have Kept Their Cameo A Secret In The Past.

As the Deadpool & Wolverine predictions will continue until the film’s release, it begs the question of whether or not Keen is actually not in the Phase 5 movie. One of the concepts that long-time dedicated MCU audience members are used to now is when actors have to lie about not being in a Marvel Studios movie to the press. However, this trend became more prominent with The Multiverse Saga, which is why it’s worth noting the possibility that Keen has to keep her actual involvement under wraps.

This started with Andrew Garfield’s comedic press tour leading up to Spider-Man: No Way Home when it was clear that his Peter Parker was coming back in the Phase 4 movie. With NDAs in place, as well as Marvel Studios wanting the audience to be surprised when they see an MCU movie, if an actor gets asked by journalists if they are doing a cameo, they legally can’t confirm those details. In Keen’s case, she is already part of the Disney umbrella through The Acolyte, meaning the stakes are higher than ever if she spoils her potential appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine.

It would genuinely be a massive shock if Marvel Studios didn’t manage to bring Keen’s X-23 back for Deadpool & Wolverine. Given how well-received her portrayal was in Logan, it would be welcoming to see Keen getting to play an older Laura and work together with Hugh Jackman once again. Hopefully, Keen’s hypothetical cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine is indeed one of the movie’s big secrets.
