Marvel fans claim Channing Tatum’s Gambit stole the spotlight from Dafne Keen’s MCU debut in Deadpool & Wolverine.
If Marvel fans could indulge in a cinematic treat as tantalizing as chocolate, this year’s superhero blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine, would be the ultimate indulgence for them. Bringing the iconic pairing of the fourth-wall-breaking, talks-too-much mutant Deadpool and the brooding claw-wielding Wolverine together for the first time, the film is no less than a movie equivalent of the world’s favorite dessert.
Full of delightful surprises, as we already know, the film is a powerhouse when it comes to cameos and surprise appearances. Making it Dafne Keen’s MCU debut film as well, fans believe the actress’s X-23 was overshadowed by Channing Tatum’s Gambit.
Channing Tatum’s Gambit Cameo is Better than Dafne Keen’s X-23
Deadpool & Wolverine served as the fun ride down memory lane as it brought back several Marvel characters from the larger Marvel universe. If this wasn’t exciting enough, the movie also features cameos from actors in various never-seen-before Marvel roles, from Henry Cavill’s version of Wolverine to Blake Lively’s Ladypool. However, one actor singlehandedly stole the spotlight: Channing Tatum.
Such was Tatum’s portrayal that he even ended up overshadowing Dafne Keen‘s X-23 cameo. Reprising her role from one of the best superhero movies of all time, Logan, Keen was just as brilliant as she was close to a decade ago and shared one of the most emotionally touching scenes of the film with her character’s surrogate father, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
Despite her outstanding cameo and the sheer brilliance of her introductory scene in Deadpool & Wolverine, there are some in the Marvel fandom who believe Channing Tatum as Gambit was the best cameo of the R-rated MCU flick.
Fans React to Channing Tatum’s Gambit Cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine
Channing Tatum was supposed to have made his Marvel debut as Gambit years back, but only now got the chance to play the character after years of earnest waiting. His debut as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine, thus, understandably left fans buzzing with excitement, so much so that many believe he even ended up outshining the much-anticipated arrival of Dafne Keen’s X-23 in the MCU.
After his cameo, the world of social media is full of fan edits of Channing Tatum’s Gambit, appreciating his portrayal and celebrating his cameo. One of the many edits recently went viral on Instagram, and this is what fans had to say about his remarkable cameo:
For me. Seeing Gambit just for couple second stole the whole movie spotlight. Like x23 felt irrelevant appearing after Gambit. -@ni6htcrow
Channing is Channing frr. -@theunmol
He deserves solo movie. -@memewallah00
Daamnnn! Nobody could have played Gambit better than Tatum. Bro was made for it! Even better than Dafne’s wolvie. -@_call_me_arshxxn_
Gambit cameo was better than Dafne keen’s. -@hamadorwhat
While fans continue to be captivated by Channing Tatum’s Gambit and hail it as the best cameo of Deadpool & Wolverine, it is but a fact that all actors infused the film with their distinct charisma, making it one of the best MCU entries of all time. Revitalizing the MCU with its R-rated storyline, it is undeniable that the Ryan Reynolds starred blockbuster is one Marvel enthusiasts will continue to savor for a long time to come.
