New Deadpool & Wolverine merch offers an official look at Hugh Jackman wearing a comics-accurate Wolverine mask and helmet as part of his costume.

Wolverine In Marvel Comics With Hugh Jackman In Yellow Wolverine Costume From Deadpool & Wolverine

There has been a lot of excitement about Deadpool & Wolverine finally putting Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in a yellow suit, and now a bit of Marvel merch reveals he will also be getting his iconic mask. Jackman has played Wolverine for 24 years now, but he has yet to wear a comic-accurate yellow costume in any of these appearances. Though the costume and his mask were teased at the end of The Wolverine, Fox’s X-Men movie franchise never delivered on that promise.

Now, a new look at Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in his iconic mask arrives thanks to a post shared by @TheMoviePodcast on X (formerly Twitter). The tweet shows a picture and a video of a Deadpool & Wolverine cup from CinemaCon 2024 that reveals Jackman’s Wolverine wearing his mask.

Although many had speculated that Deadpool & Wolverine would finally give Jackman this iconic look, this is the first official image of the mask that has been revealed so far.

Why Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Costume For Deadpool 3 Is The Best Yet

After 24 Years, Hugh Jackman Finally Gets A Yellow Wolverine Suit

When X-Men came out in 2000, not only did the movie not give Wolverine his iconic yellow suit from Marvel Comics, it openly mocked the idea. This attitude seemed to persist throughout Fox’s original X-Men trilogy, which kept the team mostly in their dark leather suits from the first movie. Even when Fox started allowing other characters to have more comics-accurate costumes in later movies, Wolverine still got left out.

Then 13 years after his first appearance as Wolverine, Hugh Jackman starred in the standalone movie The Wolverine. This movie ended with a teaser for X-Men: Days of Future Past, and even showed Wolverine being given a yellow mask and gloves, hinting that he would have his comics-accurate costume in his next appearance. However, when the next movie came out, Wolverine was back to a generic jumpsuit with little color.

This created a lot of excitement around Deadpool & Wolverine‘s earliest set photos, which showed Jackman wearing a classic yellow and blue suit. Now that it has seemingly been confirmed Wolverine will also have his mask, audiences are likely even more excited to see Hugh Jackman back in action. Deadpool & Wolverine will finally be delivering the Wolverine costume X-Men fans have wanted for the last 24 years.
