Why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Doing More Events Separately

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle urged to continue with solo career paths | Royal | News | Express.co.uk

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s separate appearances aren’t any kind of indicator about their relationship, but rather a change in the way they are doing work. Sources explain to People that while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still have plenty of joint projects, they are also carving out their own career paths.

“It’s clear that a twin-track approach is evolving,” one friend explained.

“An entrepreneurial and enterprise focus is going to be more the Duchess’s priority and the Duke will continue to champion his not-for-profit patronages,” the friend added. “But there will be joint efforts around those cause-driven areas of work.”

Meghan has her upcoming American Riviera Orchard brand launch and Netflix cooking show. She most recently attended the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles gala on her own Saturday night.

There’s another good reason why Harry and Meghan aren’t appearing together as often, the friend said. The couple has two children, Archie, 5, and Lili, 3. Their career evolution is “as much a reflection on parenting priorities, in that one of them stays behind with the children,” the friend said.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Divorce Rumors Reach Fever Pitch

Meghan is also aware that when she joins her husband, some critics accuse her of trying to steal his spotlight: “This truth is, this couple is damned if they do, damned if they don’t,” the friend said.

A royal insider stressed there is plenty Meghan and Harry still do together. “With their recent trips to Nigeria and Colombia, as well as their foundation-led events, it is still evident they show up together for the causes they jointly support,” the source said. “What we are seeing is a functional and healthy relationship with two working partners, not the contrary.”
