Fans are asking whether Jeremy Renner is in Thunderbolts* after a new set photo leak.
The upcoming Thunderbolts* film is poised to be one of the most exciting entries in the MCU’s upcoming slate. The studio has made several changes within the studio creatively and approach-wise to improve its output after a string of underperforming projects. With the team behind Netflix’s Beef coming in, expectations are quite high for the film.
Concept art featuring the team in Thunderbolts*
The film will unite a rag-tag team of antiheroes, including Yelena Belova, Taskmaster, Red Guardian, US Agent, Ghost, and Bucky Barnes. Following Florence Pugh’s on-set video that went viral a few weeks ago, a new photo, presumably from the film, shows a new look at Sebastian Stan as Bucky. But fans are rather focused on a Jeremy Renner look-alike in the photo.
Fans Believe They Have Spotted Jeremy Renner on The Set of Thunderbolts*
A slew of fan-favorite MCU antiheroes are set to come together in next year’s Thunderbolts*. The film directed by Jake Schreier is shrouded in secrecy regarding its plot. However, leaks from the sets (even one uploaded by Florence Pugh herself) have intrigued fans. Now, another alleged photo from the set of the film shows Sebastian Stan‘s return as Bucky Barnes.
Stan is seen wearing a dapper suit and flaunting a goatee. He has grown hair, resembling his look from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. However, fans are focused on a rather interesting individual included in the photo. Beside Stan is another man wearing a white checkered shirt who quote resembles Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye in the MCU.
The man looks like a Renner look-a-like/stunt double rather than the man himself, or it may be a coincidence. There has been no official info about him being a part of the film. But the man’s hairstyle and the look clearly resemble Hawkeye. It remains to be seen if the studio reveals his involvement in the film in the coming months.
Olga Kurylenko Plays Coy While Talking About Her Role in Thunderbolts*
After her debut as Taskmaster in 2021’s Black Widow, Olga Kurylenko is set to return as the character in next year’s Thunderbolts*. The character has since been freed from being mind-controlled (through a chip) by Dreykov, and she is expected to have a new evolved arc in the film.
In an interview with Screen Rant, the actress revealed some tidbits about the film while also not saying anything about its plot. Kurylenko stated that the film has undergone some significant changes, and that is all that she can tell about the film at this point. She said, “Well, they changed a couple of things. [Laughs] That’s all I can say, but that also doesn’t say anything, because obviously every movie is different, and in every movie, things change. But yeah, it will be different, we’ll see. There’s nothing I can say.”
In addition to Kurylenko, the film will also star Sebastian Stan, Hannah John-Kamen, Wyatt Russell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Harrison Ford, and Lewis Pullman. Thunderbolts* will hit theatres on May 5, 2025.
