“What in the actual f—k are they doing in this movie”: Disturbing Photo Leaks From Anthony Mackie’s Captain America 4 Freaks Out Fans

Way back in 2019, Avengers: Endgame handed over the mantle of Captain America to Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson. Two years later, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier made the point canon and established the hero firmly into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which canonically was flaring up in tensions owing to the sudden re-emergence of the population that vanished and returned leading to mass displacement and worldwide chaos.

To address the issue in depth as well as mark the first big-screen debut of the new Captain, Marvel Studios announced in 2022 a new movie titled Captain America: Brave New World, the fourth installment in the franchise. However, only little headway in terms of actual production made progress, marred by cast and storyline changes as well as the rechristening to Captain America: Brave New World. To add to the woes, a mind-numbing leaked set picture just surfaced on the Internet.

Currently aiming for a 2025 release, the upcoming installment of the iconic Marvel hero has once again ignited fury and, more prominently, confusion among the fans. A set photo from the Anthony Mackie starrer, that recently surfaced on the web and shared by MCU Film News on X (formerly Twitter), depicted several alien-like creatures hanging down from the tail as if freshly barbequed.

The puzzling snap has fans wondering the reason for these creatures to be present on MCU’s Earth in the first place. As of now, the only openly disclosed aliens residing on the planet are the Asgardians and the Skrulls. Yet, none of them have ever brought along these creatures, which bear a striking resemblance to the lizard-like Orloni species appearing prominently in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

The wave of speculations also re-ignited the botched production of the movie so far. An extensive reshoot soon happened following the massive slump in box office performances of the last few Marvel releases, as well as a rumored negative response from the test audience. Moreover, the lack of formal promotion and addressing of controversies for the movie has also hampered its early reception.

Fans left wondering about the fate of the Anthony Mackie outing

A recent report pointing out the likely small role or even complete committal of Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes sparked a massive furor among the fanbase, who longed for the return of the dynamic duo. The condensed anger has now boiled over on social media following the recent photo leak that has several wondering what exactly Marvel Studios plans to do with this movie.

Fans have risen up in discontent and expressed their resentment over the confusing state of affairs for the movie. Additionally, many have also pointed out that the film now has a minimal shot at success owing to the numerous missteps of decisions taken by the Kevin Feige-led team.

As of now, Captain America: Barve New World has a probable plotline involving the frozen eternal, Tiamut. Thereafter, Harrison Ford, taking over the role of General Thaddeus Ross, has sparked rumors of the Red Hulk and the return of characters from The Incredible Hulk such as The Professor and Betty Ross, hinting at a return of Mark Ruffalo’s The Hulk, on which Marvel Studios has again has issued flip-flop statements.
