What Friends Think of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Engagement Rumors

Photos of Taylor Swift shared this weekend by Brittany Mahomes from her Eras Tour wrap party have sparked yet more engagement rumors between her and Travis Kelce. In the picture, Swift is holding her hand in a way that covers her ring finger, so some fans questioned if she might be hiding a very special ring. But several sources speaking with the Daily Mail suggest that the couple is not going to be engaged anytime soon.

“He does read some of these stories because it cannot be avoided,” the insider said of Kelce. “And he finds some of it hilarious because he knows how much the world wants this to happen. At times it can be overwhelming for him…His family jokes with him about a wedding and pits him up against his brother whose wife is already popping out more babies.”

Swift also finds some humor in the situation.

“Taylor and Travis find it extremely humorous that they have been engaged every day since they got together,” a second source said. “These engagement rumors started from day one and they do not know how they can even have a public engagement at this point.”

A third source said that if they do get engaged, it will be a private affair.

“Travis is going to have to go above and beyond but it won’t be a public spectacle,” the source stated. “They are both aware of the fact that the whole world is so thirsty for them to be engaged and, while Taylor does want a white wedding one day, her friends just feel like people need to chill and let them be a couple.”

The insider seemed to indicate that it won’t be something everyone figures out through rumors or photos. It will be announced.

“When the time comes, people will know about it. But they are going to keep some things private and will have elaborate plans in place to ensure secrecy,” said the source. “They are not worried about those close to them leaking info because people who know them respect this. When and if Travis does make this happen it will be for Taylor and for Taylor only.”

This is similar to what other sources told Us Weekly earlier this month, emphasizing that Swift is in no rush for the next step of her relationship.

“Taylor does feel like Travis is The One, but jumping in is not her style,” one insider said. “That’s just not how she does [things]. Marriage is a big deal, and she wants [it to be] forever.”

A second source added that both she and Kelce would “love to be engaged,” but they “aren’t rushing it.”

In a way, they need to spend more time together as their busy careers have kept them apart and in the honeymoon stage.

“Taylor and Travis are eager to spend quality time together because [that’s when] the little nuances about someone’s personality and habits come into play,” the first source said. “They will learn so much about each other.”

The second source added that they are planning to spend time together at Swift’s home in New York City.

“Taylor plans to stay in and hibernate [with Travis] for a while,” the second source said. “They want to do ‘normal things’ as a couple.”

And children are definitely a distant thought.
