Although Kevin Feige assured the fans about preserving the legacy of Logan, people are now more confused than ever!

As the release date for Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool & Wolverine comes closer, Marvel President Kevin Feige seems to be getting more and more excited about the upcoming film.

Hugh Jackman as and in Logan

The famous saying goes, “In with the new, out with the old” but in the case of Kevin Feige’s MCU, he wouldn’t let it happen. Holding the integrity and legacy of one Wolverine film intact, Kevin Feige assured fans that the legacy will not be destroyed.

Kevin Feige Will Not Destroy The Legacy of Logan

It was the year 2017 when the world was at peace and Hugh Jackman’s Logan was released. With Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine aka Logan alongside Dafne Keen as X-23, the film was quite a success.

However, at the end of the film, Logan sadly dies (oops! Spoiler alert). Ever since the announcement was made that Hugh Jackman will be reprising his role as Wolverine in the upcoming film, fans have only one question to ask.

And Kevin Feige seems to know that question since he clarified in The Official Marvel Podcast that he will not be desecrating the grave of the 2017 film Logan, or the X-Men franchise.

And in cases like Logan, they [the people] think they said goodbye to once in an excellent movie that we also had nothing to do with called Logan.

He further continued, And we were very conscious about maintaining the integrity of that movie and what we’ve done with Deadpool & Wolverine but it’s very exciting to see how we can continue with the same actors in new incarnations.

From laughing until their faces hurt to shooting some action-packed stunts, Deadpool & Wolverine is going to be everything that people want and more but how did the idea begin?

Well, surprisingly, it was Hugh Jackman who came up with the idea of a Deadpool-Wolverine movie. Luckily for the actor, director Shawn Levy and actor Ryan Reynolds were in the process of thinking of a story for the next Deadpool movie!

How The MCU Came Up With Deadpool & Wolverine!

Before it was finalized that Wolverine would be a part of the movie, Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds were unable to come up with an original idea for Deadpool 3. Wanting it to be a fantastic movie that marked Deadpool’s entry into the MCU, the actor-director duo was confused.

Well, in an interview with Vanity Fair, The Greatest Showman actor revealed that he had no idea that Reynolds and Levy were in the process of thinking about the story.

Jackman stated that he was chilling by the beach when a simple idea erupted into his mind.

I was sitting on a beach, not a care in the world, and for some reason, the thought came into my head: What do you want to do? And the first two things had nothing to do with work—then literally, I thought: Deadpool-Wolverine. I want to do that movie. That’s what I want.

After driving home, Jackman called Ryan Reynolds and that is how the story of Deadpool meets Wolverine came to be. Marvel president Kevin Feige has assured the world that the legacy of Logan will not be disturbed.

This leads to further questions as to how will the X-Men members join the MCU. Where will they find a Wolverine to kidnap from his own timeline? All of these questions will be answered when Deadpool & Wolverine releases on 26 July 2024 in theaters across the U.S.
