“We’re going to bring Michael Keaton in everything now”: Bad Boys Directors Break Silence on Potentially Directing Spider-Man 4 After Batgirl Disaster

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah reveals it will be great to potentially direct Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4.

Ever since it was reported that Tom Holland-starrer Spider-Man 4 is in development, there have been countless stories regarding the film. Although Holland has acknowledged that the plans for the movie are in full force, there has been no update so far, leading to a plethora of rumors and speculations floating around.

Tom Holland stars as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Columbia Pictures' SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME.

As per the latest rumor, it was reported that the directors for the upcoming Bad Boys: Ride or Die were being roped in by Kevin Feige to direct the film. While none of it has been confirmed, the filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah recently broke their silence on the matter.

Bad Boys Directors Break Silence on Potentially Directing Spider-Man 4

Bilall Fallah & Adil El Arbi

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, better known as the duo Adil & Bilall, have previously worked with Marvel on the critically acclaimed series, Ms Marvel. Having directed (some of) and also having produced the series, the two are better known for their upcoming Will Smith-starrer film, Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

After the filmmakers received widespread critical success for their last Bad Boys flick, the two have become a favorite of many and even went on to direct the now-shelved DC’s Batgirl. And so when the rumors of Kevin Feige apparently eyeing the duo to direct Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 went viral, fans were shocked.

In a recent interview by ComicBook.com, the duo reacted to the comments after previously having declined to comment about it (via Instagram).

It came out of nowhere, because we’ve got the Sony bosses here, and they didn’t tell us anything.

Stated El Arbi as Fallah added, I’m a superfan of Spider-Man, so you can imagine, when I was reading that, I was like, ‘Whoa — that would be cool.

While their early no-statement stance was taken by fans as an admission that they were in talks with Marvel Studios, their latest comment on the situation reveals that they have not been reached out for directing the upcoming Spider-Man 4.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah Would Love to Work with Michael Keaton Again

Micheal Keaton as the Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah might not have been able to showcase their talents within the comic book genre on a large scale, but they did direct the now-shelved DC’s Batgirl. Described by Peter Safran as unreleasable, the movie was made against a budget of $90 million but was shelved in August 2022 (via The Independent).

Starring Leslie Grace and Brendan Fraser in prominent roles, the movie also starred Michael Keaton as Batman. While it would be great to see him as the Dark Knight again, Marvel fans rather want to see him return as the iconic MCU villain, Vulture. After playing the main antagonist in the first Tom Holland-starrer flick, he is yet to make a reappearance in the MCU despite his fans’ demands.

And while talking to ComicBook.com about potentially directing Spider-Man 4, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah joked when asked to bring Keaton back as the Vulture, We’re going to bring Michael Keaton in everything now!

While we await further news of the potential Spider-Man 4, it will certainly be epic to have talents like Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah direct the movie. Although Marvel Studios is yet to offer further updates regarding the flick, fans also hope they will get to see Keaton return as Vulture sometime soon in the MCU.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movies can be streamed on Disney+, while Bad Boys: Ride or Die will be in theatres on June 7, 2024.
