“We basically flipped a coin”: Rumored Spider-Man 4 Directors Took a Giant Leap of Faith With Will Smith’s $426 Million Film By Doing One Ballsy Thing

Spider-Man 4 has been rumored to have several different directors, and the latest addition to the mix happens to be Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. It was rumored that they were the frontrunners for Kevin Feige. While there have been no confirmed official sources for the same, there is no denying that their talent has gotten quite a lot of attention.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are rumored to direct Spider-Man 4

The best example of their excellent work would be their recent film, Bad Boys: Ride or Die. The film has gotten fans extremely excited, and its reviews are stellar, even though it is the fourth addition to the franchise. During a recent interview, the pair talked about how they came to the conclusion to continue the series.

Rumored Spider-Man 4 Directors Had A Decision to Make

When Bad Boys For Life was announced, everyone thought that it would be the end of the Bad Boys saga. The third film would go out with a bang, and even if it was not successful, at least the series got a good conclusion. However, the film ended up being a massive success for Sony Pictures, and quickly, a fourth film was greenlit.

During a recent interview with Collider, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah were asked about how they came to the conclusion to make a fourth part of the movie. Even though Bad Boys: Ride or Die was greenlit after the third film was released, there is a post-credit scene that hints that there will be more to the series.

We really though that Bad Boys for Life would be the last one. That’s why we called it Bad Boys for Life.

The pair’s answer to this question was quite interesting, revealing that even though they were sure that Bad Boys For Life was the last film, they had decided to shoot the scene.

The Fates Decided

After shooting the post-credit scene, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah were conflicted about whether they should put it in the movie or not. While they did not mind coming back for another film, they were quite unsure, as officially, Bad Boys For Life was the franchise’s swansong. With a lack of other ideas, the pair came up with the perfect way to decide what to do.

Will Smith in Bad Boys for Life (2020)
We were thinking about doing that little post-credit scene, and it was 50-50. We were not sure if we were going to put it in the movie or not, and then we basically flipped a coin and we said ‘Okay, let’s put the post-credit scene in.’

They flipped a coin and let fate decide if they should continue the franchise through the small scene or put it to rest. Since the scene did make it into the final cut, fans can expect what the result of the coin flip was.

While their method of decision-making was quite interesting, there is no denying that fans are glad that they kept the scene in and the franchise got to continue, giving Will Smith and Martin Lawrence another chance to play the Bad Boys.

Bad Boys For Life is available on Prime Video.
