Tom Hiddleston’s Cautious Outlook on Loki Season 3 Leaves Fans Guessing

Following the end of season 2, long-time Marvel Cinematic Universe star Tom Hiddleston addresses whether or not he sees Loki season 3 happening.

Tom Hiddleston shares whether he sees Loki season 3 becoming a reality, following his latest Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure. The ending of Loki season 2 became one of the most dramatic and discussed highlights in the entire MCU run. After serving as a major MCU villain, Hiddleston’s Loki faced his ultimate hero moment in the season 2 finale as he became the God of Time.

During a recent interview with Variety, Hiddleston was asked about Loki season 3, as it has been unclear whether his solo series is over. While he has no idea at this point, he stressed that there have been times when he thought he was done, sharing the following:

I truly don’t know. [laughs] There have been other times when I thought that it was the end and I have been mistaken. But if this is the end, I’m so proud of where we ended up.

Should Loki Season 3 Actually Happen?

The Season 2 Finale Gave Loki A Tragic But Satisfying Conclusion.

There has been a great debate as to whether Loki will return to the MCU and if season 3 should happen. With it being one of the most successful Disney+ shows for Marvel Studios, another season would seem like a no-brainer, as it would likely lead to even more success for the brand. However, while financial and critical success is appealing, it’s crucial to look at whether season 3 is worth it for the character in the long run.

It’s key to remember that Loki has been with the MCU since 2011, making him one of the oldest characters in the franchise and having served as the big bad in 2012’s The Avengers before his following stories. With this version of Loki being a variant who got away, the season 2 finale brought his arc full circle. Not only did he become a hero in his own right, Loki now carries one of the most crucial roles in the MCUby protecting the timeline.

Still, it is not impossible that Loki will show up again in the MCU in some capacity before the end of The Multiverse Saga. However, Hiddleston making appearances can happen without the need for season 3, as the show hit a natural ending point with the latest season finale. For now, time will tell if Loki season 2 was the proper conclusion to the series or if the show will get another season.
