Florence Pugh’s recent Instagram post has fans hoping for multiple major characters to appear in Thunderbolts.

Florence Pugh Teases Thunderbolts is Getting 2 New Members Including a Major Hulk Villain

It wouldn’t be the Marvel Cinematic Universe without teases, glances, and surprises around every corner. And keeping up the tradition of sneak peeks, Florence Pugh, who debuted in the MCU as Yelena Belova in Black Widow,  has sent the Marvel fandom into a frenzy with her latest post on Instagram.

In this post, Pugh can be seen in costume from the sets of the highly anticipated movie Thunderbolts. Not just the post, but the caption too seems to have some easter eggs in it. There’s surely a lot to unpack with this one.

And the eagle-eyed Marvel fans have left no stone unturned to figure out every detail. It might be possible that the gang of reformed supervillains will have two new members. One of them might be a major nemesis of the great Hulk.

In her Instagram reel, Florence Pugh has given a sneaky glance at the sets of Thunderbolts from Atlanta. The actress can be seen in the get-up, walking from her vanity van to the set and showing around some behind-the-scenes magic that brings films to life. The director Jake Schreier can be seen at work with a shot of Yelena on his monitor.

The caption takes the cake though. It reads “@jakeschreier and I have been hanging out..” It includes a series of emojis which are quite suggestive. As was pointed out by DoomBlazer on YouTube, the emojis represent the members of the Thunderbolts team.

The spider for Yelena, the robotic arm for Bucky, and so on. Almost all known members of the team track with the emojis used in Pugh’s caption. However, there are some which hint at more members. There is a comet, cactus, snowflake, and even a gun emoji, all of which align with certain supervillains.

For instance, the snowflake emoji could mean Luna Snow or Blizzard, and the cactus could mean the character Cactus itself or Abomination, a Hulk villain, whose appearance resembles a giant cactus.

Marvel Has Previously Hinted At The Same

The possibility of new members is more than just fans theorizing and speculating. After all, Pugh’s post isn’t the only thing that suggests the possibility of more superheroes.

Speaking of the film’s progress at the San Diego Comic-Con back in 2022, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige commented on how Thunderbolts will be full of surprises, and how the film might include some characters that have not been brought to life on the silver screen yet. As was reported by an update account for Thunderbolts on X/Twitter (@thunderbnews):

Nothing is certain, but the addition of new members is highly plausible. Fans await an official announcement on the matter, which also cannot be taken for granted.

Thunderbolts is set to hit theatres on May 2, 2025; and will conclude Phase Five of MCU.
