It has been a long five years since Chris Evans said goodbye to the role of Steve Rogers, aka the OG Captain America. At the end of Avengers: Endgame, Steve hands over his shield to Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, who is finally ready to become to next Cap. Although we had glimpses of him coming to terms with this new responsibility in the Disney+ show, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam will finally get his turn as the next leader.

At the end of the Disney+ show, Sam wore a version of the Captain America suit, which wasn’t appreciated by most fans. The suit was a gift from the Dora Milaje and made from vibranium. Most noticeably, it was fit with Wilson’s trademark retractable wings, keeping parts of his Falcon persona, and adding it to the OG Captain America suit.

Recently, in Empire’s recent Deadpool & Wolverine issue, fans caught a glimpse of the new Captain America suit. Anthony Mackie‘s Captain America suit, in TFatWS, had more white in it, even though it was of the traditional blue, red, and white. The new suit for Captain America: Brave New World is more reminiscent of the Chris Evans suit, although with some basic differences in style.

But fans are seemingly happy that most aspects of the suit have remained unchanged. They took to Twitter to share their opinion on the new suit design and gave their thumb of approval.

Given Sam is a mere human with no super soldier serum to aid him, his suit needs to be reinforced with enough padding and gear. It is basically so that he can fight his way through the obstacles as he dons the next Captain America mantle.

Brave New World Will Put Sam Through The Paces

Julius Onah, the director of the upcoming Captain America 4 movie, is giving final touches to his project. As Sam Wilson finally takes on the Captain America mantle, add to that the new suit, things are shaping up nicely. Even after so many delays and reshoots and change of hands, Captain America: Brave New World is gearing up for an early release next year.

In a conversation with Empire, Onah said that the movie will put Sam “through the paces” and will be like “his coming-out show.”

“Part of the challenge for Sam as Captain America, working within the government, is the way he’s going to make decisions. The point of view he’s going to have will at times put him at odds with the President.”

He further added how fun it was to shoot the action sequences in the movie.

“The action in this movie is incredibly exciting because this is a guy who can break, this is a guy who can bleed. We get to have a lot of fun pushing him to the limit.”
