“There’s no reason Moon Knight can’t be renewed”: Kevin Feige Must Listen to MCU Fans After Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye Franchise Reportedly Gets Another Season

Fans Call for Moon Knight Renewal Amid Hawkeye Season 2 .

Alongside the sharp direction from Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, Moon Knight stands out as one of the stronger MCU Disney+ shows. Depicting versatile actor Oscar Isaac in a fascinating dual-personality role juggling between two worlds of Marc Spector and Steven Grant, this series pulled the viewer’s heartstrings in six episodes. However, this compelling adventure has not been continued despite its massive success and eight Emmy nominations.

But fans who have grown attached to the Khonshu avatar are not willing to let go just yet. They are fervently calling for the renewal of the show, especially after witnessing Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye getting renewed for another season. It seems Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios may need to reconsider his decision regarding the show after seeing this.

MCU fans demand the return of Moon Knight

Reputable Scooper MyTimeToShineHello recently dropped updates regarding Hawkeye Season 2 on X (formerly known as Twitter). The post claimed that the second installment has been ordered for Disney Plus meaning fans will once again see Renner’s Clint Barton and Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop team up for a new adventure.

This news did not sit well with Moon Knight fans who instantly took to social media to request the revival of Moon Knight. A fan page named Comicodigy wrote: If Hawkeye is really getting a second season, then there’s no reason Moon Knight can’t be renewed.

Seeing this post many other fans jumped into the comment section to show their support and urged for season 2. Keep scrolling to see what people are saying.

Moon Knight director discussed the potential for a season 2

In October 2023, Moon Knight‘s director and executive producer Mohamed Diab touched on the topic of the show’s renewal with Arabic Marvel. In this interview, he revealed that the MCU never had a plan to make another season. From the beginning, they planned it to be a limited six-episode series.

Marvel had determined it from the first day. Marvel’s series projects are all six episodes except for special projects like ‘WandaVision.’ The usual format is six episodes. ‘Loki’ is the only series they said will be in two parts from the first day.

Marvel's Moon Knight (2022)

As for whether or not Moon Knight‘s success could have been attributed to a potential second season, it sounds like that was never on the cards for Marvel, as Diab adds that they don’t operate like other networks by renewing based on success but that it’s always about the plan they have in place.

So it seems that the show’s success had nothing to do with the renewal and it was simply never in the card.  According to Diab, Marvel’s approach to renewals differs from other networks, as they base their decisions on their existing plans rather than just the show’s success.

Marvel’s way is not the usual way where if the project succeeds, I say let’s renew it for a second season. It’s their plan, successful or not, they have a plan.

While fans wish to watch Isaac in his superhero costume again, the MCU seems to follow the TV series format that they established 15 years ago. Thus, only time will tell if the creators make an exception for viewers who want to get on more adventure mysteries involving Egyptian gods.
