Even though the entire season kept us on our feet and wanting to find out more about the chaotic events in Virgin River, the ending of Season 6 left us with not only one but a handful of cliffhangers. Let’s take a look at what happened in Virgin River’s last episode and what it might mean for the future.
A television adaptation of the romantic novel series from Robyn Carr, Virgin River sees nurse practitioner Melinda Monroe accepting a new job in the titular northern California town to escape her past. But Melinda’s small-town expectations are checked when she realizes that adjusting to this new and straightforward way of life is a tricky balancing act – with the possibility of new love on the horizon.
Will Doc Lose the Clinic?
Doc’s future is quite uncertain, to say the least. During an emergency in a rural area with little to no cell service, Doc performed an intense operation on a dying patient. He did so even though his video call with a specialist was cut off, and only his grandson and intern, Danny, was present. A doctor at the hospital condemned his actions and started a whole investigation against him, which eventually threatened the loss of his license. At the same time, the hospital has contacted Hope to let her know that there is a conversation about expanding to Virgin River and, as a consequence, replacing Doc’s clinic.
Doc running his clinic has been the backbone of the popular Netflix series, so taking this aspect away would feel way too messy. Maybe a petition started by Hope in which the whole town’s signatures are collected will stop the new hospital from being built and save Doc’s clinic. True Virgin River style.
‘Virgin River’ changes the source material, and it actually benefits the Netflix show.
Will Mike and Brie Get Married?
Mel and Jack’s wedding was one massive whirlwind for Brie. First, Brady shows up with Lark in company, even though she tried to steal a massive amount of money from him, and then he confesses his feelings to Brie. After that, Brie has a heartfelt conversation with Mel and Kaia, in which she somewhat decides to break up with Mike, as her uncertainty is unfair towards him.
Did Lark Con Brady For Real This Time?
Lark’s exit feels relatively certain, and the chance to see her or the money returned to Brady is almost non-existent. Her character isn’t needed for Brady’s story development, and there is no way they would get back together. The next season will probably look at how he deals with the fact that all his money is gone and that Brie is still the love of his life.
Will Jack and Mel Adopt Marley’s Baby?
Ever since the first season of Netflix’s longest-running original series, it has been made clear that Mel (and, at this point, Jack) really want to have children. After a previous heartbreaking loss, though, they made the decision to look into adoption. Simultaneously, Mel had a patient, Marley, who was attending Mel’s courses together with the baby’s future adoptive parents.
With originals making up more than 40% of their streaming library, it’s only natural there are so many great original Netflix TV series.
What Did Jack See at the End of ‘Virgin River’ Season 6?
He continuously threatened Charmaine ever since she got full custody. So, when Jack comes over to her house to check on her, he finds a mess in the living room and only hears a lullaby playing from the nursery. When he opens the door, all we get to see is a shocked face. It is unlikely that Clavin took Charmaine and left the twins there since his goal was to raise his boys himself.
It could be that Charmaine actually killed Calvin in self-defense. He is, after all, handicapped, and maybe she somehow managed to protect herself and her children. If this is the case, then maybe it would put Charmaine in the position of potentially facing a prison sentence, and Mel and Jack might step up to look after her twins. Maybe the scenes in which Mel and Jack are looking after Charmaine’s twins were foreshadowing. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until Season 7 of Virgin River is released to find out. Virgin River is available to stream on Netflix.
