The Marvel Cinematic Universe lands the ultimate casting for Lady Deadpool in new Deadpool & Wolverine art. One of the biggest MCU movies of recent years is only a month away from arriving in theaters, as Deadpool & Wolverine will mark the latest chapter in The Multiverse Saga. In the movie, Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine for the first time since 2017’s Logan, and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool will officially be moving over to the MCU.

While Deadpool & Wolverine will tackle the multiverse, the marketing for the MCU installment has confirmed there will be a number of Deadpool variants showing up in the story. One of the popular theories is the introduction of Lady Deadpool, as itoonofficial shared new MCU fan art of who they think should play her in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Following the news that Taylor Swift will not be appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine, the artwork depicts Gossip Girl and A Simple Favor star Blake Lively, who is also married to Reynolds in real life, as the MCU’s Lady Deadpool. While it has yet to be confirmed if the character will appear, a recent Deadpool & Wolverine trailer featured a mystery female character wearing a Deadpool costume, with her legs being shown, with many believing it to be Lady Deadpool.

Why Blake Lively Would Be Terrific As Lady Deadpool In Deadpool & Wolverine

Blake Lively as Adaline in the 1940s in The Age of Adaline

If it turns out to be Lady Deadpool in Deadpool & Wolverine, Lively would be a perfect fit for numerous reasons. To begin with, Lively is a talented actress who always has a powerful presence on screen, as seen in many of her recent roles. Seeing her as Lady Deadpool would be a very different route for Lively, and allow the audience to see her in a more comedic setting.

Even though 2011’s Green Lantern movie had many struggles, one of the highlights of the DC film was the great chemistry between Reynolds and Lively as Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris. While they never got to explore that relationship further after Green Lantern flopped at the box office flop, seeing them finally work together again in a successful comic book movie franchise would make up for the lost opportunity. It would also be genuinely funny to see how Deadpool & Wolverine’s version of Lady Deadpool would be with Lively portraying her, especially in the context of the multiverse.

It would make a lot of sense to have saved Lively’s Deadpool franchise debut to the very end of the trilogy, as she didn’t appear in Deadpool or Deadpool 2. It would also be massively impressive if it ends up being Lively as Lady Deadpool without it being spoiled in advance. With only a month left to go, the MCU audience will know soon enough whether Lady Deadpool is indeed making her cinematic debut in Deadpool & Wolverine and whether Lively will be the actress to bring her to life.
