Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star Jonathan Majors faces more abuse allegations from multiple women.
Former Marvel Cinematic Universe star Jonathan Majors stands accused of physically and emotionally abusing multiple former partners as he awaits sentencing for his assault and harassment convictions connected to a domestic case.
A new report from the New York Times details the account of two accusers, Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper, who claim Majors abused them during his interactions with them. Duncan, Majors’ ex-fiancée, claimed that during their relationship, she initially saw his romantic side before alluding to his allegedly more manipulative and menacing side. “At first you feel, ‘Oh, I’m being loved,’” Duncan said. “And then you feel, ‘I’m being erased.’” In statements to the prosecution ahead of Majors’ recent domestic trial, Duncan detailed an alleged 2016 incident in which they were arguing during a road trip in Chautauqua when Majors “threatened to strangle and kill her.” A month later, Duncan visited Majors on the set of the Western drama film, Hostiles, when she discovered messages to another woman on Majors’ Apple Watch. The Loki starallegedly threw the watch out the window on the way back to the hotel, before he “pushed Ms. Duncan into the couch and began to choke her” when they got there. He also allegedly threatened to kill her, threw her around and said, “‘I’m going to make sure you can’t have children.’”
Hooper, meanwhile, dated Majors between 2013 and 2015, when they were attending the Yale School of Drama. Hooper also attested to Majors displaying his softer side early on, but stated he became increasingly controlling as time elapsed. According to the pretrial statements, Hooper was “not allowed to speak to anyone about their relationship, isolating her from a support system.” Hooper also alleged that when she was pregnant with Majors’ child, he agreed to have an abortion, but abandoned her at the hospital to attend a rehearsal. Later, Hooper claimed she discovered Majors was having an affair when the actor threatened to commit suicide. After they broke up, when Hooper entered a short relationship with someone he knew, Majors allegedly berated her, saying, “I hope you die; kill yourself” and “I’m going to rip you out of my heart the way they ripped our baby out of you.”
Jonathan Majors Has Faced Several Allegations of Abusive Behavior
Additionally, Majors stands accused of abusive behavior during his time working on the HBO horror drama series, Lovecraft Country. Majors allegedly dressed down female crew members, made derogatory remarks and was argumentative with them. Additionally, he allegedly caused some of them to leave the show due to his mannerisms. Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, denied all allegations by the actor’s exes and the Lovecraft Country crew members, though she conceded he made mistakes in each case.
Majors was convicted of third-degree reckless assault and harassment following a domestic incident last March in New York involving him and his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. On the day of the conviction, Majors was fired by Marvel Studios from his role as supervillain, Kang the Conqueror, having played the character and his variants in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Loki. He also saw his Disney/Searchlight sports drama, Magazine Dreams, shelved due to the guilty verdict.
Last April, it was initially reported that multiple women were considering bringing abuse allegations against Majors. The actor previously denied the allegations, positing his “immersive method acting” as his defense.
Majors awaits sentencing for his domestic case, which was postponed until Apr. 8 following a recent hearing. The actor faces anywhere from probation to one year in prison.
