Fans have mixed feeling about ‘Spider-Man 4’s potential story arc as a recent report revealed the movie will feature a classic Spider-Man rival.

Venom 2 teasing Spider-Man in the end, the symbiote in No Way Home could be the next story the MCU might go with. A recent report claims that a symbiote movie of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is in the works, which essentially means fans will get to see Spidey wearing the Venom suit.

Tom Holland stars as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Columbia Pictures' SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME.

This is not something new, Venom has been a long-time Spider-Man rival, and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 3 has been extensively featured. Also, Spider-Man wore the venom suit, albeit fighting it in the end. But Sony’s new Venom with Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock has been presented in a different light, and it would be interesting to see how the movie creatives fit the two franchises into one narrative with Spider-Man 4.

A recent report from insider Daniel Richtman suggested that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 is in the works after the spectacular bang the third installment has provided for fans with astounding multiversal cameos. Also, parallelly Sony’s Tom Hardy starrer Venom has been successful and this time both Marvel Studios and Sony are set to work together again to find another groundbreaking success with Spider-Man 4 that is reportedly set to begin filming this fall.

Holland’s Spider-Man has seen an extensive lot. The fan-favorite character went to space, fought cosmic villains, worked with the Avengers, and experienced multiversal madness. Now, with the Spider-Man and Venom encounter, MCU and Sony might look for another classic Spider-Man x Venom story. But Hardy’s Venom is quite different from Topher Grace’s Venom in Sam Raimi‘s 2007 movie, Spider-Man 3.

Venom has evolved into an antiheroic figure from being a classic Spider-Man villain with a twisted sense of morality. Hardy’s version, as Sony portrayed, has essentially been the anti-hero, and the Venom and Brock duo has been presented as friends that have evolved with compromises. With that note, it is hard to imagine if Venom will leave Brock, choosing Peter Parker as the new host.

What Fans Feel About Venom’s Debut In Spider-Man 4?

If Venom debuts in Spider-Man 4, it would be a whole different picture altogether. Holland’s Spider-Man has already endured too much, and while fans are rooting for a street-level movie connecting the dots with Kingpin and other street-level villains, a venom narrative might slightly shy away from that.

In this regard, it is worth giving a thought to how the MCU might use Venom in Spider-Man’s context. Will Venom be a villain? Eddie Brock will certainly have a strong difference with the idea. But another symbiote from Klyntar or his own making may just work. Regardless, if the news came to be true, fans will get to see Vemon alongside Spider-Man once again
