SNL fans are slamming what they deemed to be a very “disrespectful” Reba McEntire skit. When celebrities have made it, they are mocked on the hit sketch comedy series. Reba was the latest casualty and though some found it to be hilarious, others were offended. Keep reading to see what they said.

SNL Fans Slam ‘Disrespectful’ Reba McEntire Skit

It feels like Reba McEntire is everywhere. She is a coach on The Voice and she has a new NBC sitcom, Happy’s Place. Viewers are having a great time with the series and it has done great things, number-wise for the network. It was a very pleasant surprise after the premiere and fans are continuing to tune in. Reba plays a bar owner, Bobbie. Her father left her the bar after he passed away but what she did not know was he also left it to his long-lost daughter, Isabella. They have to now co-own Happy’s Place and work alongside some colorful characters.

It teams Reba up with her good friend and former sitcom co-star, Melissa Peterman. Additionally, Reba’s boyfriend, Rex Linn has signed on as the wise cook, Emmett. The show is quirky and fun with the occasional song by the country superstar. She still is seen Mondays and Tuesdays as a coach to aspiring singers alongside Snoop Dogg, Michael Buble, and Gwen Stefani. With her being everywhere, it only made sense that SNL would mock her. It has happened in the past and this time, it was political satire done by Heidi Gardner. She stopped by Weekend Update and joked:

“When I’m on The Voice, I don’t know if the person singing is a Republican or a Democrat. All I care is they’re Team Reba.”

Reba McEntire fans did not necessarily appreciate this interpretation of the singer, actress, and coach, according to Taste of Country. They took to social media to express their disdain:

Whaaaaat are they doing to Reba?!!!!
Does Heidi Gardner have any clue who Reba is?
why snl dragging reba like this!! aaaaa!!!
If you’re going to do a skit, at least make it funny. This was just disrespectful

Where’s Kenan?

Some SNL fans were just upset that Kenan Thompson was not playing the part of Reba McEntire. However, other viewers loved the impression and thought it was amazing:

The Reba bit is taking me the f**k out. Heidi Gardner is a gem & I fully believe Pennywise was Reba’s father.
The continued readjusting of how she was sitting was the best part of the bit.
That is one of THE BEST I have seen in a bit. Man that made me cry laughing!

Hopefully, Reba can laugh at herself and appreciate the bit. Ultimately, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. More so, they tried and that is all that matters.
