Season 6 of Virgin River concluded with a dramatic cliffhanger, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter to discover what will happen next.
The season centered on Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack’s (Martin Henderson) path to the altar, as they faced lingering issues from their past while preparing for their wedding day.
In the final moments, Jack stops by Charmaine’s (Lauren Hammersley) house after she misses the ceremony, only to find it ransacked. Charmaine and the twins seem to have disappeared, raising fears for their safety, especially after Charmaine had recently filed a restraining order against Calvin, the twins’ father.
Fans don’t have to wait long for their next fix of the hit show, as months before the season six premiere, Netflix announced that Virgin River was being renewed for a seventh season – making it the streaming platform’s longest-running scripted show, according to the streaming platform.
Season 7 is was written in December of last year, with scripts expected to be ready by this month, and filming scheduled to begin in the spring, according to showrunner Patrick Sean Smith.
Speaking to Deadline, Patrick confirmed that the show will start basically just where it finished off, saying: “Currently, the next season picks up like two hours later, there is not a time jump this time.”

This fact will come to much delight of fans, as the show’s ‘confusing’ timeline seems to be puzzling them.
With many taking to Reddit to express their confusion in regards to the timeline of the current six seasons of the show, one fan wrote: “Does anybody else question themselves at this point what’s going on with the timeline?…”
As another replied with a joke, saying: “Sip your favourite beverage and go with the flow. At least it hasn’t gone backwards yet.”
