Despite not giving away any crucial details about the upcoming release, the 6 Underground actor addressed the excited fans. Reynolds took a sly dig at a 2000 film starring John Travolta when he suggested that the film should be seen as a “sequel to Battlefield Earth.” He also made fun of the MCU’s trend of having a post-credits scene and added that Deadpool 3 may not have one.

This film is as paper thin as a sequel to Battlefield Earth. We’re mostly going to beat each other senseless, make enemies with Disney, tell a few d-ck jokes, make a few jokes at my expense, make a lot of jokes at Hugh’s expense, and completely sidestep Marvel’s mandated after-credits sequence , which if you haven’t figured it out yet, is always just a commercial for another movie which will invariably end with a commercial for another movie. 

According to Box Office Mojo, the bizarre Battlefield Earth only collected $29.7 million at the box office and was met with disastrous reviews. Just when the audience thought it could not be crazier, Ryan Reynolds ended his disclaimer with a clever response a clever dig at Martin Scorsese.
